Do you know how to use a speed square?
Install drip edge?
Install Fascia board and metal? vinyl siding?

Thankfully I/we have YouTube. Not kidding. :)

Got a brand new 21* framing nailer! I hope I survive this one! lol.
Boonie !!!
Tell me about this nail gun. That was what my business was for the 34 years I owned it

I am not by any means an expert on framing nailers. In agreement with my stepson, I bought a DeWalt 21* pneuematic nailer, not expensive, <$300 but was the model he wanted, which I can't recall right now.
When/if he ever gets around to helping me with the roof he will get the nailer. KJ lives in Vero Beach and has a full time job so, hopefully two weekends from now.

I have accumulated some 1x6,(fascia board) 2x6, (rafters) OSB (roof decking) felt, 3 squares of shingles, nails, drip edge, fascia metal, 2x4's. Hope I have it all covered.
That pine tree that snapped and hit my house was a biiiig mother. Took me about 8 hours to cut up and haul outside the "dog fence".

Pictures of that cannoli please !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not as big as the one I saw in Palermo, Ricky but one of the best cannoli in Ragusa as per the local guide. Note the pistachio nuts sprinkled on the sides. It was verrrrrrrry yummy. They fill the shell only when you order it at the counter, which keeps the filling very creamy and the pastry very crunchy.

No, it's the thing in the guitar that keeps the neck straight! Adjusting it changes the distance between the strings and the fretboard.
When I was young I used to buy acoustic guitars at Montgomery Wards. They were pretty good ones for the price, except none had the rod in the neck. I would keep a guitar in the back of my
'62 Chevy and eventually the neck would warp severely from the Florida heat/sunshine and I would be off to buy another one.

Shout out to all Vet's on Veteran's Day here in the US, and Remembrance Day in Canada.
My dad was a WWII vet who died only a few years back at 94 (after driving himself to dialysis for four years, he decided he couldn't drive
anymore and gave us two weeks notice). Those guys were tough! I miss going to veteran breakfasts with him on this date.

Mine too, although he passed back in '96. Up through my generation, military service was common in my family. The later generations not so much.
However, I did not join, but Uncle Sam said we got you, so I went. Traveling abroad with the military inspired me to travel further and see more of the world, if only on a shoestring budget.

Great discussion with Steve Vai on his Top 5 albums!
*I agree with his take on his #5 pick; has been my fav. from that band for a long while now. :)

I got a kick out of Vai's comments on Zappa.
Many years ago when mostly we were but mere early 20-somethings, I had friends, actually 4 brothers, that were wild about Zappa. An evening spent at their house would often be Bobby's RTR spinning Zappa. Though never a super big fan, the evenings spent with the brothers, a little weed and companionship are etched in my memory.
Two of those brothers are passed, and I'm not sure about the oldest as I've not been able to contact him since Helene came roaring through.
Man I loved those guys.
Butch could have been a stand in for Zappa at a glance, though heavier in size. Jack was the freak, with long blond hair. Bobby got out of the navy under Admiral Zumwalt, (who allowed beards) so he had a nicely trimmed beard on departure. Butch for sure and maybe Bobby got out of the service a bit earlier than I, I think, but when we met we became fast friends.
So many memories. So many gone now.

Mine, too. He also died a couple of years ago, just three weeks before his 98th birthday. He drove the Burma Road.

Tough doesn’t come close to describing him. Two heart attacks before he was 55, aortic aneurism, gangrenous appendix - strokes finally got him. I tell people it took God over 40 years to kill my dad.

Mine also. His plane got shot down over Germany 3 times and all 3 times they were able to glide into Belgium where they were stationed. Their drinking hole in Belgium was in a little pub where a lady who operated it was like a mother to all of them. My father had 3 brothers who were also in WWII. All 4 brothers made it back alive which is an accomplishment knowing the odds of that happening, i.e. “Saving Private Ryan”!
