We have two four wheel drive vehicles and two generators: the main generator is an automatic whole house Generac and we have a backup 2000va Honda portable. The liquor cabinet has been well stocked for decades...with all sorts of stuff that I don't drink. 🙏

And remember Boonie, I seek out places like this....

Would love to have a Generac whole home gennie. I just have a 6500 peak/ 5000W generator I've had for probably 20 years. If the darn hurricanes would stop sapping my bank account for a few years.....

I guess I’m lucky. In six years, my power has been down for about five seconds. I had to reboot a few computers and reset the clocks on my kitchen stove, but that’s about it.

In Virginia, where it seems like they’d have a more robust setup that in these here rural parts, it seems like I’d lose power for three days every time I came back from a fishing trip, spoiling a hundred pounds of salmon and halibut. Yeah, plenty ticked (hopefully not censored) off.

That's the reason we got the Generac; we lost about $600 worth of food while we were away. Also, these generators are actually power outage prevention devices...since we installed it a few years ago, the only significant outage was 2-1/2 hours once in the middle of the night. It's strange how crap more often happens to the unprepared.

looks like a local rest stop. But not this year yet

A pic of one of our trips to Big Sky, which I believe is sort of in your neck of the woods, inspector.

Now the folks in the Big Sky ivory tower charge a big fee over and above the ski pass cost to ride that aerial tram.
