Unfortunately you lose the Stereo SACD & Stereo CD fans with BD-A. So it's a non starter for many companies.
In fact, a writer over on the Computer Audiophile forum mentioned having lunch with Universal Music Europe - who asked him at lunch why is there a lack of interest among consumers in BD Audio? Hmm....

I understand that a lot of (stereo) audiophiles have high end SACD or CD players and may not have a high quality blu-ray player. However, on the flipside there are a lot of people getting into hi-rez FLAC also - Blu-ray is the best (physical) medium to purchase PCM based audio - especially if they offer FLAC downloads.

Anyway we are getting off topic - some more suggestions.

Any of the other EWF titles would be great...plus:
Eagles (One of these Nights, On the Border, & The Long Run (if the full album was done by Mr. Scheiner!!!)
Jackson Browne - Late for the Sky
I second the Simon and Garfunkel - Bridge over Troubled Water
James Taylor - One Man Dog & Gorilla

here is another one I like to see released I do not know if is in a box set or not.

I have not seen it edgar winter they only come out at night with frankenstein

as I remember the original SQ quad mix, the syn starts with the right front and goes all the way around.

Those half-dozen unreleased Elton John SACDs that UMG left in the vault would be nice to hear as well.

We all would like to hear those, but I just can't see UMG licensing these unreleased 5.1 mixes out to AF when UMG are still trying to push HFPA Blu-Ray Audio, a perfect platform for these unreleased surround mixes. (Not that SACD isn't however…)

Or they could release them as Anniversary Editions at some point - just as they did recently with the Rick Wakeman "Six Wives" album as a CD + DVD-A approach.

I guess what I really meant was release those in the original 4.0 quad mixes,

like that new blood Sweat & Tears the second one that I saw that was released feb 10 best buy as it on line but

it is backed ordered for 2 to 3 week, I had ordered that one.

since columbia and epic are the same company.

The good news is that is exactly what Audio Fidelity is doing with Quad titles. Rather than converting the tapes from Analog to PCM and then remixing them into 5.1, they are keeping them in 4.0 Quad and simply transferring the Analog Tapes to DSD.

That helps explain why titles like Blood, Sweat and Tears, Best of Bread and Best of the Guess Who sound so good! :)

Well it sure would be nice if they'd bloody well get to 'em in our lifetimes...!

Wow, lots of stuff on there that I'd love to hear - I love those Hancock albums but how many copies would they have ever expected to sell when they commissioned those mixes? Same with the Maze albums, and Marcus Miller's first solo album...great stuff, but niche to say the least!

I think I've said this before...but I'm gonna put in a plug again...

BARRY WHITE!

That would be pretty awesome. The Walrus of Love coming at you from all directions. It might even exist. I read somewhere, years back, that 20th Century was going to get into the Quad game. I can't recall which Barry White album they were going to do - "with the Love Unlimited Orchestra" comes to mind, but I could be wrong.
