Please post your thoughts and comments on this brand new release from Tears for Fears entitled "Songs for a Nervous Planet".
This new album is currently available as a Blu-Ray audio release from the SDE store: https://www.thesdeshop.com/products...-a-nervous-planet-sde-exclusive-blu-ray-audio
The Blu-Ray features Dolby Atmos and 5.1 mixes from Steven Wilson.
The album begins with 4 brand new studio recordings followed by a live performance recorded at FirstBank Amphitheater in Franklin TN from the Tipping Point tour in 2023

I won't rate this, as I've listened on Tidal, but this is a wonderful mix and the new songs are excellent. I had my suspicions the new songs would be Tipping Point outtakes (as I fear the extra tracks will be on the Duran Duran reissue, based on listening to Evil Woman), but this is most certainly not the case. If I owned a physical copy, I'd be giving this a hearty ten.

I agree with you. :) I've been listening on Apple Music while I wait for my disc to arrive. Very good mix and the music speaks for itself.

What's not to LOVE about Tears For Fears exclusive SDE release SONGS FOR A NERVOUS PLANET! 22 glorious tracks mixed into Dolby ATMOS, DTS~HD MA 5.1 and yes, STEREO by the master himself, Steve Wilson.

The boys are in fine control of their vocals, the arrangements impeccable and the sound is tactile and wholly immersive.

A 10 on the richter scale!

I voted 9. If The Tipping Point in Atmos didn't exist I might put it at a 10. But it doesn't quite match the previous release. Mainly because, in my opinion, the live material doesn't have the mixing potential of the studio stuff. Still, a STELLAR disc and definitely worth listening to! Really liked the new songs and hope this means we see another album soon.

Well, two out of the four songs basically are - "Astronaut" is a track from the very first phase prior to the speed dating era and "The Girl That I Call Home" is based on a backing track from the speed dating era. "Landlocked" is also over a decade old but that track sadly didn't make the BD despite Paul's efforts.

Roland did indicate that here.

Frustrating not having a few video live performances of this album in with the Pure Audio. I’m sure the recent film is on the way. Can’t wait to see it.

I voted 10.
I listened last night (Atmos) and it sounded exceptionally good.
The live songs sounded so good.
The live songs had that different twist on them that of course live music would have and it sounded great.
The happy audience was mostly heard between tracks which was another nice thing.
The new songs were also great.
Please keep poll threads pure to your listening experience only.

The newest concert film on blu-ray is the live album I'm waiting to purchase. Just not a big fan of live performances unless I can see the band in action.
