It was a great evening for a ball game. The Somerset Patriots are the Yankees AA affiliate.

Occasionally, you can get to see one of the Yankees rehabbing from an injury there. Last night, we got to see Yankee's first basement Anthony Rizzo play a few innings. You can tell the difference between a seasoned major league player like Rizzo and the rest of the 'trainees': they way he fields, throws and swings the bat. He did not disappoint, hitting a homer and a single in his two at bats.

And we were treated to a 10 minute fireworks show after the game. A fine night indeed!

It must be great for the other players and the team overall to even briefly have a seasoned pro like Rizzo in the clubhouse.
