This song screams of my youth. No, I mean it screams. If I could sum up all the feelings and experiences I had as a youngster growing up in central, IL. This song is it. No shit, it still gives me goosebumps.

Amazing how a single song can do that.

In case you missed it on the dedicated thread, Joey Molland, the last living member of Badfinger, has died. :(

Conflicting reports emerge regarding potential D.K. Metcalf trade to Packers

Ricky, thanks for heads up on this, hadn't heard about it. I went & found some speculation about it. I like Metcalf.
Seattle allegedly wants a #1 & Wicks or Dobbs.
But GB is probably not going to do it for that much. Though they do need a veteran WR.
I'd give up a #1 for Metcalf but not a #1 plus Wicks or Dobbs.
I'd have given up a 5th round pick for Deebo Samuel.....

What are your most interesting memories of Super Bowl parties?

Here are two of mine:

My cousin hosted a whole string of SB parties over the years:
- She would always hang her son's football from the center of the light over the kitchen table as a decoration.
- She would greet and hug everyone and say, "Happy Super Bowl."
- A number of people who came to these parties had no concept of the NFL. However, they excelled at imbibing large quantities of vino.
- Their television absolutely sucked. It was a 19" Sony that needed severe color correction and had lousy sound.
- The tween girls would scream like banshees at every big play.

Super Bowl XXXVIII:
A vendor's sales reps held a SB party for their clients at a house. I was talking with one of the reps during half time, and we both were only mildly interested in the Timberlake / Jackson show. Then Janet Jackson's boob comes out. About five seconds or so go by, and then...
Sales Rep (female): "Was that a boob?"
AR: "It looked fake."

My most interesting party was the year the Detroit Lions won the SuperBowl. Party in my mind only
For the record:
The Lions are one of the NFL's oldest franchises (founded in 1930), yet they have zero Super Bowl appearances and arguably the worst postseason résumé in league history -.Jan 27, 2025

Go Leafs GO!

Another one:

Super Bowl XXXV
Again, this was a vendor sponsored SB party at a house. One of the other clients, a drunk as a skunk Texan, was all hyped up because Britney Spears was part of the halftime show. All through the second quarter, this guy is asking, "Is Britney gonna show us her belly?" Then during the first part of the show, "Com'on Britney. Show us your belly!" Then when she appeared doing so, he's screaming, "Yeah Britney!!!"

Aerosmith also performed the day along with others.
