So, how about live stuff - what shows have y'all been to recently and what's on the horizon?

This past Saturday we went up to one of the casinos just north of town and saw Blue Oyster Cult. I'd not seen them live since about '77 so was not sure what to expect, but it was not expensive and the theater was pretty small so why not take a chance. They were pretty good actually, though I'd have liked a bit more of Eric Bloom singing and little less of Buck. And they played Godzilla so we went home happy.

We've got tickets for Tom Petty next month, and just this morning I grabbed a pair for Penn & Teller in May.
Oh, Blue Öyster Cult live sounds awesome! Glad they played "Godzilla." Last show I went to was Deep Purple a few weeks ago – amazing energy, even though the guys aren’t young anymore. Up next, I’m super excited to see King Crimson on the horizon!

Also, I’ve got a few smaller gigs lined up. I love how these smaller bands interact with the crowd, often a more intimate experience than big arena shows.:)

One week ago I had the pleasure of seeing Abba Voyage in London with two fellow QQ members, @omega4 and @MrSmithers. I think they’ll agree that our transatlantic surround sound summit was great, but the Abba Voyage show was a teeeeeny bit better… No - it was phenomenal!

Since my first visit to the UK in 2018 these two guys have become very good friends so it was great to spend the day with them in this way.

I’m sure some of you - like many - may be skeptical of the Abba Voyage show, but until you’ve seen it you can’t understand just how incredible it is.

Left to right this is me (currently from Mansfield, OH, USA), Omega4 (currently from Luton, UK), and MrSmithers (currently from Kent, UK). Cameo by my son-in-law and daughter in the row behind us.

I wholeheartedly agree! When I went to see the Abba Voyage show I spent the first 10 minutes in absolute shock! The show is an absolute technological marvel. Even if you have no time for the music (I happen to love it BTW), there's still soooo much to appreciate!

BTW: Steven Wilson rated Abba Voyage as the best 'live' event of 2022: https://stevenwilsonhq.com/new-year-update-2023/

Of course. If I had known I would have gone
Learned about it yesterday by pure chance and bought the ticket today!
We could have met today, that's a pity!

End of first part, what a show. The way he plays the guitar with such fluidity and elegance, making everything seems so easy is amazing.
Great sound and vibe too.

And now for the Genesis's hits!!!

Tomorrow night in Lyme Regis, The Sandy Denny Project https://www.thesandydennyproject.co.uk/

Which consists of some well known folk artists.

Fotheringay MkII members Sally Barker (The Poozies, BBCTV’s “The Voice”, IOTA) and guitarist PJ Wright (TradArrr, The Dylan Project) are joined by multi instrumentalist Marion Fleetwood (voice, fiddle, guitars – Feast of Fiddles, TRADarrr, IOTA), Gemma Shirley (keyboard and vocals – TRADarrr) and the rhythm section of bassist Mat Davies and drummer Mark Stevens from folk-rock legends Little Johnny England to form The Sandy Denny Project. Sandy Denny’s remarkable writing is approached not as a tribute band, slavishly copying the records, but as a tribute in its best sense – an interpretation of Sandy’s wonderful work.
