Please post your thoughts and comments on this 2022 reissue of the classic album "Fully Completely" by The Tragically Hip.
This new 30th anniversary deluxe edition contains a Blu-Ray disc with a new Dolby Atmos mix of the album by Mark Vreeken.
The Dolby Atmos mix is also streaming on all Dolby Atmos streaming providers.

Touché. Seeing the lack of forum activity around this release, I know I am pitching a question into the void. I love the band and already have the extras from a previous deluxe release. But, and there is always a big but, this is a top 25 album for me, so I am still open to getting this if the Blu-ray is top notch. Seeing that Mark Vreeken did the mix, I have high hopes.

Give it a listen on Tidal/Apple?

Good thought. I have been considering trying out streaming surround. What has made me hesitate is the thought of compromised quality, like the streaming mp3 experience. Now there is too much available to shy away, so I have to jump in. I’ll come back and update if this release is available to me.

Regarding the streaming Atmos mix and not the box set:

Content - arguably their best album with fantastic production on the original from Chris Tsangarides. This release moved their career to a new place and deservedly so. Sound, song structure and maturity all taken up a few steps here.

Fidelity - very impressed with the clarity and presentation of 30 year-old tapes. Maintains the sharpness of the original album while updating the sound to today’s standards. Crisp and clean, like 7Up…

Mix - there is a lot going on in several songs here and Mark Vreeken does an excellent job of presenting it all in Atmos. Tsangarides created a semi-dense, layered mix the first time around that was full, but not too busy. Vreeken stretched it out and brought more life to it by letting it breathe a bit more. There are discrete elements throughout and many guitar layers and backing vocals that are more audible in the Atmos environment. Having heard this album hundreds of times in stereo, I enjoyed hearing greater depth and clarity in familiar pieces while also hearing things I never heard before.

Great job by all involved to bring this classic album to a new level of presentation and deliver on the promise of surround. I enthusiastically voted 10.

UPDATE
I found the boxset on Discogs for a great price and picked it up. 3 LPs, a very cool book, mini-poster flats and the blu-ray with the surround mixes and documentary. The Atmos mix sounds great. Hats off to Mark Vreeken. Really happy to have this.
