Although āCareless Whisperā is the only track on the album where Andrew has a songwriting credit. (And some sources have him playing acoustic guitar on the track)Well, I gave Fantastic a 9, and this sounds every bit as good, so there ya go. Better than the previous album, with fully half of the LP being huge hits on the radio. Sound is good for an atmos mix being played on my 5.1 rig. I notice the bonus tracks have the complete Music from the Edge of Heaven album with the exception of George's solo "A Different Corner" for some reason. Sure, it's a solo track, but supposedly so was "Careless Whisper" and that's here. Oh well...
A milestone. Did we NEED this in Atmos? I don't know. Will you allow me to say that still sounds better and warmer on vinyl? Ok I said it. Then I'm happy to add another blu-ray to my collection; well it's fairly discrete and there's definitely content for the heights. Personally I like the few hits on the album and the bonus track Christmas song, I'm not a fan of all the remaining ones, too eighty-glam sounding for my taste. I do prefer these songs in stereo but multichannel mix is not boring. But again my subwoofer fights to stay awake -are these new mixes that light on LFE?-
For anyone who's interested 'A Different Corner' is available in 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound on George Michael's [2000] Ladies And Gentlemen DVD... As is Careless Whisper!Between this and āFantasticā it seems we have been given everything Wham! ever released. (With the exception of āA Different Cornerā, which I suppose is really just a George Michael track even though it was released as Wham! but still odd it was left out). In either Surround or Stereo. I presume we got stereo versions where multi-tracks didnāt exist?
Do you know what the mix is like? Because I see it's readily available and cheap. I mean, I realise it's only Dolby Digital, but is it least adventurous? For anyone who's interested 'A Different Corner' is available in 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound on George Michael's [2000] Ladies And Gentlemen DVD... I really don't know how to answer your question. The mix for the track in question along with the other 22 tracks sound good for the time of the discs release, ie: 24 years ago...Do you know what the mix is like? That's good enough for me. Thank you!I really don't know how to answer your question. The mix for the track in question along with the other 22 tracks sound good for the time of the discs release, ie: 24 years ago...
The LFE channel sign is present on my amplifier, but I don't know if there is really output on this channel because the sub is quiet and I don't see the channel level doing anything (looks more like a 5.0 experience)I get no LFE channel with this title in Atmos or Dolby Digital 5.1, anyone else experiencing this?
Case in point. The LFE channel sign is present on my amplifier, but I don't know if there is really output on this channel because the sub is quiet and I don't see the channel level doing anything (looks more like a 5.0 experience)
I also got annoyed by it at first until I pulled up the original vinyl pressing on Discogs and looked at the images to confirm, this indeed was the original idea for the cover design. This was intentional. It's how the original UK LP was released. So Paul wanted to mirror the original release.
Reading this comment, I wanted to ask if most here have full range speakers for their surround sound set up, because I did research and found that most 5.1 and 7.1 systems with a sub do not comprise of full range speakers so you have to use the Low-Pass Filter settings on your AVR and divert certain low frequencies to your sub. I haven't played these albums enough to observe if my sub goes to sleep during playback but I doubt it would. The LFE channel sign is present on my amplifier, but I don't know if there is really output on this channel because the sub is quiet and I don't see the channel level doing anything (looks more like a 5.0 experience)
