Yep, it's a pretty thunderous sounding show isn't it? Very good actually....I watched Black Sabbath's "The End" Blu-ray. I wish I'd been able to get to the gig . I thought it was just stereo (16-bit/48kHz LPCM as it turns out) but its got a 5.1 DTS HD Master Audio stream which although really just ambience in the rears still sounds good. Visual quality is excellent as well.
What a stupid question. Of course I should. Nevermind. How's the surround on this one? Should I unwrap mine?

It is a brilliant tribute and concert, I wish I'd been there.Concert for George

Even though I knew from the first time I saw this that it is a very special concert and that it would require many viewings to fully absorb its performances, I still marvel at the grandiosity of it all... man, George had a LOT of GREAT people who loved him!!!
Most people dislike=don't get the wonderful and INTENSE Indian music prelude...well, their loss...I am always amazed at Anoushka, who is just drop dead gorgeous here, and a force of nature in her sitar performance...Ravi's composition, "Arpan" is another Tour De Force which comes to a climax, funnily enough, when Clapton joins it...
The Pop/Rock part is another totally different concert which has a great and flowing buildup and includes one of a kind performances from an extensive yet perfectly unassuming players who knew what and when to play and not play...so many people that are not with us anymore (!!), Ravi, Billy Preston, Jim Capaldi, Tom Petty, Michael Kamen....
You can see Sir Paul being a little distraught during the concert, but his ukelele version of "Something" is just perfect-giving it a lighter tone and at the same time a very nostalgic one, and of course, when the band comes in it always gives me chills..and not to mention "While my guitar.." being another of MANY spine tingling moments with Clapton singing it and playing the solo exactly like he did on the record and seeing him savoring every moment.. and of course , Macca's background vox, also like on the record...whew!
Being the last Harrisong played that evening, "Wah-Wah" definitely brought the house down and was a perfect choice...
I always have a hard time watching this cause I know I am gonna have tears rolling down , for many reasons, and this last time was even worse...it is the most emotional concert I have and I WILL watch it again, just not very soon...
No-Man - Mixtaped (w/the documentary, 'Returning', and videos from 1990-2009 on disc 2). DTS DVD 5.1 (2009). Great set, among my most favorite...

I saw this originally when it came out on PBS or elsewhere and loved it. I totally get the emotion. So now I've got to have one. Is this stereo only or can surround be had on Blu-Ray etc?

I have this version...it's so good and so fitting for the 'quiet' Beatle.
I'd been sitting on the fence on this one, he has a tremendous voice, but after reading this I've just ordered it, and on https://shop3.raywilson.net/index.php/ray-wilson-zdf-at-bauhaus-blu-ray.html its just over £10.80/Euro 13.50/US$12.15 including World Wide shipping!Ray Wilson: Ray Wilson ZDF@Bauhaus on blu ray in 5.1
This is from May, 2018. Ray Wilson of Stiltskin and, later, Genesis fame. Always loved his voice, this contains songs from Genesis and his solo career mostly. If you like Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins and Genesis this might be for you. Favourite song here is Along The Way that his brother Steve (no, not that Steven Wilson) wrote, beautiful tune. This is shot on a small stage with appropriate sized crowd, almost like a big studio. His vocals are nailed in the centre channel, guitars spread over the front stage. Decent surround action for a concert and the low end here is fantastic, really punchy without becoming over bearing on my 2 sub set up. Video is decent, but a tad grainy on some shots, not in a bad way though, kind of filmic. Great selection of songs, glad to have this one in my collection. Wife likes it too, so I can play it whenever I'm allowed to be in the mood!
