OK, it makes sense. They weren't using EMI recordings. Bellaphon produced some good quad albums, and, of course, in SQ. That's interesting.

I find that most interesting that the 4 Fantasy Records tracks were released in SQ .(as opposed to The American CD-4 format choice for FPM Records)
No surprise that the Rock tracks come from the Bellaphon Bacillus SQ Catalogue.
A true quadraphonic collector's prize.

"the fantastic world of quadro" (Bellaphon/Toshiba SPL1 Q)
This is a unique release for a number of reasons; but mainly because it has some songs (side 1) only released in Quad on this title. Side one is 4 songs by Jazz artists of that time in 1973; and Side Two is 3 songs from other 1973 bellaphon/bacillus Quadro titles of German/Krautrock music.
Song A1 is Inside Straight from: The Cannonball Adderley Quintet – Inside Straight (Fantasy – 9435)
* This is a Live studio recording and has a messy, front heavy SQ kind of mix to my ears (Grade D)
Song A2 is Evil Ways from: Charlie Byrd – Crystal Silence (Fantasy – 9429)
* This is a little better than the first one, but still a fairly messy SQ sounding track and with a slightly right side weighted mix. (Grade C-)
Song A3 is Both Feet On The Ground from: Kenny Burrell – Both Feet On The Ground (Fantasy – 9427)
* This is about like song 2, but very right side weighted mix sounding. (Grade C-)
Song A4 is La Fiesta from: Woody Herman – Giant Steps (Bellaphon / Fantasy – BLPS 19166)
* This is the best sounding of the bunch with some real separation in the instruments and some good Front and Rear action (Grade B+)
** Woody Herman's Big Band with good horn section separation at times.
Song B1 is Remember The Future from: Nektar – Remember The Future (Bellaphon / Bacillus - BLPS 19164 Q)
* This was as Quadro release; but I noticed the song length is only ~8:00 min. and the original album had 2 longer sections, so not sure how the edit is on this one as I'm not real familiar with the title (also released later in 2004 as a Multichannel SACD.)
** Seems to have a Rear heavy weighted mix to me. (Grade B+)

Song B2 is Fisherman´s Dream from: Nine Days Wonder – We Never Lost Control (Bellaphon / Bacillus – BLPS 19163 Q)
*This was a 1973 Quadro release, and has similar mix to B1 but slightly better mix IMO. I am not familiar with the original album.

Song B3 is Kabisrain from: Dzyan – Time Machine (Bellaphon / Bacillus – BLPS 19161 Q)
*This was a 1973 Quadro release also, with a better mix and I like the sort of World/Prog Rock music of this song, the best of this set.
I need this whole album but it goes for pretty high dollars typically; also had some later CD releases that may be encoded.
