I got Birds of Fire still in my player. Jeff Beck Group is still on back order at ImportCD. I will wait until the 10th of this month to go thermal on them and cancel and demand refund.

AF's SACDs
Jeff Beck Group
and
Mahavishnu's "Birds of Fire"

much better than what I expected...

(yeah, I love the fact that they "poo poo'd" MCH all these years and now Birds of Fire is on the Billboard Charts...."Money changes everything")
And it's a good thing MOFI or APO didn't get ahold of this title first.

The Fixx - 1011 Woodland (DVD-A)

I'd be curious how you think they compare...in terms of general sound..

I'm not skherbeck  ..but.. I find they're quite different.. I like them both but Streetlife is warmer sounding.. its really very nice and natural.. Stranger is a bit more sterile in a way. From a surround point of view The Stranger is one of those 5.1's with lead vocals hard in the centre, so if that's your bag you'll love it (I do, though its so revealing it does sometimes show the limitations in his voice  don't get me wrong I really like BJ.. but the two 5.1 Surround SACDs of his are really raw and full of detail).. Streetlife is in a way a more interesting listen for me because its unfamiliar, I didn't even know the album before I heard the Quad whereas The Stranger I could probably recite in my sleep.. though The Stranger is a consistently excellent album and is probably his finest.

I've answered my own question.. its a DTS CD-R..

Limited to 23 pressings.. :yikes ... only given out at a concert?? :p

Good Lord that is rare.. and obscure..! Congrats on finding one! :upthumb

(PS. If you got yours at a reasonable price it's probably one for the QQ Anti Shocker List ;) )

Congratulations! :wave

Umm.. what is it? SACD?

It turns out to be a DVD-A, which really surprised me. It's marked as such on the disc and my Oppo displays it to be DVD-A as well.

I paid 55 Euros plus shipping (70 Euros total), which is cheap in the grand scheme of things

This is just why I was saying to QQ Member "Mike The Fish" the other day to watch out for Discogs.. its an excellent resource and great for buying and selling.. but.. there's soooo many errors there and this is just such an example, the listing says this is a CDR...

Like fredblue, I also enjoy a BJ. My copy of the Stranger hasn't arrived yet, so I can't compare to Streetlife Serenade quite yet!:)
