ORG has done a fabulous job with the transfer of the original stereo mix of Monk's Dream. It seems that a 3-track master tape might also exist of this album. If so, it would be wonderful if AP took a crack at that and released a 'multichannel' SACD. But for now, I am very grateful for this one from ORG. And their Mingus SACD has also gotten good reviews. It's next on my wishlist.

Let's hope ORG continues their excellent SACD series in the future.

Original Recordings Group is one of Ying Tan's record labels. He is also the person behind Groove Note. Always excellent SACDs and DSD Downloads.
Hard to go wrong there.

Actually that's a different label - ORG Music.
Original Recordings Group is the label that issued the SACDs of Grace, Monk's Dream, etc.

Thanks for the clarification, Brian!

I don't mind being a little mixed up. Actually, I am delighted they are different labels.

2 different labels producing excellent SACDs... even better! :D

That has tripped up a lot of SACD fans. As you say, good to have SACDs from both! :)

How's the fidelity on the Rubinstein Chopin's? I'd expect the performances to be stellar.

Do you have any other recordings of Beethoven 6 (Pastorale) to compare their fidelity and performance to the Walter?

Also,, what's the label and country of origin on the DiMeola/DeLucia/McLaughlin? I have the domestic Sony/Columbia, which comes in a standard jewel box and outer sleeve.

Where did you buy this? I want this one big time. These Hong Kong disks are hard to come by.

update: Well, I see this place is getting it in sort of pricey

You could check eBay. They usually have sellers offering the HK SACDs. Not sure if it would be any cheaper than the US web stores.

I did. Like $30 for the disk and $7 for some sort of slow shipping. I'll just wait for the July 4th 10% off sale.

I only received these SACDs within the last few days, so I haven't had a chance to listen to them.

All four of these SACDs were just released by Hong Kong Sony Music Entertainment and all four were pressed in "the EU".

See if the below link works for you at yesasia.com:

http://www.yesasia.com/us/search/sa...1&sea=1&vm=32&cid=226&q=SACD&s=1&sb=138&vn=37

Currently, each of the 4 SACD titles are prices at under US$25.00/each. Free shipping worldwide if order is over US$40.00. Buy three or above of above SACDs, get additional US$1.00 off per SACD.

I got mine within 10 days of release. yesasia.com used to operate out of San Francisco, until the economy tanked in '08.

I've had good results in the past ordering from YesAsia.Com. Worth checking out for the HK SACDs.

While rare, it is unfortunately an up convert, nothing over 22.1kHz..., SACD only, no CD layer. Why did thy bother?
