It's always tough when your favorite team has a bye week. Like withdrawl. I will have to satisfy myself with the various Wild Card games this weekend. Most interested in the Bronco/Bills and Vikings/Rams.

I saw this interesting tid bit on the Kansas City Star website:

The Chiefs currently have the second-best odds to win the upcoming Super Bowl, according to BetMGM, behind only the Detroit Lions.

How's that feel, Ricky?
Would you prefer that they have an additional opportunity to lose in the playoffs? Any given Sunday…

Do Missourians speak with drawls?

Ditto.

For which team does Tull underdog Gerald Bostock play?
[Note the correct English there, Gerald.]
I thought he played for The Bricks?
Eagles of course.

I wish I had an eagle like you ---
To wake up to.
He could be my wings to fly
In a big bird sky, hey ---
Let's be part of the machine.
Part of the machine.

Due to the California wildfires Monday night’s Rams game has been moved to Glendale, AZ. I wonder how the location change will affect the point spread given that they are no longer playing at home. 🤔
I think very little if at all since its already only a 1 point spread. The Rams odds to win might even increase because of the emotional impact of the fires. Besides, LA is a lot closer to AZ than Minnesota is. A lot of the Rams faithfull will make the trip.

Even when the Rams are at home, it’s not really a home game. When they play the Vikings, Niners, Bears, Steelers, Cowboys, etc. in LA, Rams fans are usually outnumbered by the visiting team’s fans. They may actually be better off in Arizona.

It sure was tough on the teams in the CFP who had first-round byes. Every one of them lost their first game.

ND playing OSU for the national championship. OSU opened as 9.5 pt favorites. They certainly look tough to beat.

But in the meantime we've got NFL Wild Card games later today. I'm hoping to watch The Bezos Bowl tonight on my computer without Prime ...like I was able to do with the last two games on Prime.

Pretty exciting Cotton Bowl game last night, although the forces of evil won.

It’s hard to pick either team in the finals to root for, but I’ll watch anyway.

I don't like either one of those teams that played last night: OSU because they were often the national champ in the "SEC didn't win" years; and Texas because, well, they are now in the SEC. :ROFLMAO:

Actually, I would have liked to have seen Texas win because I have in-laws that are alumni and my step-son is a ND alumnus. It would have been a cool intra-family rivalry.

Here in Ohio, we see Texas as the problem with a lot of things, including football. From a personal perspective, losing could not have happened to a more deserving coach than Steve Sarkisian.

Ryan Day has brought his team back from the dead of the Michigan game to being in the championship final. Surprising, but they are playing at another level right now.

My dad was a Michigan alumnus, and my first memories are of being in married students’ housing in Willow Run, MI.

So Ohio State is impossible for me to root for, even though I was born in Toledo. Similarly with Notre Dame. I know UofM wasn”t in the running this year (it would have been interesting to see them play Boise State - mixed loyalties there) but that doesn’t leave me with someone to prefer.

While watching last night, I noticed that OSU’s colors are crimson and grey, just like Washington State’s. How often have teams with identical colors played, and what uniform selections were made?

Good trivial pursuit question?

OSU was pretty pathetic against Michigan this year. They definitely did not play like a #2 ranked team, which I believe they were going in. They did play well last night, as did Texas, with a couple of costly mistakes. It was looking like overtime was in the cards, but nope.

Mw too. But in the back of my mind theres a voice telling me it wont work and the last few games were just a ruse meant to get our hopes up so they could pull the rug out for the playoffs.
