For those who have both this new Super Deluxe and the 2015 set, would you say that both sets are still essential or does the Super Deluxe replace the 2015 for you?

Super Deluxe replaces the 2015 set, both for ATMOS and for the full alternate versions of the major songs that are included on one of the CDs.

Finally got a chance to listen to this. Still haven't bought it since I refuse to play a part in the wastefulness of these overstuffed box sets. The mix is great, very rear heavy which comes off a bit strong but overall I like it. Can't really remember how the 2015 5.1 sounds so just going off the Atmos. So, 3 points for the mix, 3 points for the music, 3 points for the content, and 0 points for the overall package as labels need to move past forcing vinyl on everybody and just sell the individual Blu-ray (or better yet, digital versions).

Easy 10. Although it's been a while since I heard the fantastic 2015 SW surround mix, the Atmos folded down very well to 5.1 on my setup. Only one or two times did I think maybe one of the elements that might have been heights or sides was a touch lower in the mix than probably intended. Fidelity and dynamics are all there. Such a tremendous album, even the 'filler' tracks are fun and immersive. I feel lucky to be on this planet where music like this was available to me for my entire lifetime (49, soon to be 50).

There's some overlap but also some gaps in the bonus content between the 2015 and 2024 releases. I'm making MP3s for the car now to listen to the bonus material on my commute this week. At least they tried to offer a bit more value than just a tweaked 2015 mix in Atmos.

This 2024 release will be my go-to mix moving forward, but the 2015 isn't really lacking in anyway just no need to have multiple substantially similar copies. Zero regrets getting this deluxe on sale for $38 shipped. The packaging is top notch, as well. The vinyl is heavy AF, so probably an audiophile grade pressing(?).

Please post your thoughts and comments on this brand new super deluxe edition of the classic album "Fragile" by Yes.
This super deluxe edition features a Blu-Ray Audio disc that includes brand new remixes of the album in Dolby Atmos, 5.1 surround, and stereo from Steven Wilson.

I listened to the Atmos mix on the blue ray and must say I give it a 10.

I have also listened to discs 3 and 4 which are absolutely engaging! I give them a 10.

I cleaned and did the zero stat gun on the LP hoping for a clean sound but boy was I disappointed with all the damn surface noise! It sounded like my over played The Yes Album from the 70s that went through Jr. HIGH, High School and College! So with that I give a 5 for the LP and that's being generous! VERY Disappointed!

I am looking forward to giving CD 1 and 2 a listen along with the rest of the blu-ray mixes. I don't think I will be disappointed with them!

The blu-ray Atmos mix is killer and with the poor pressing of the LP, I was really close to downgrading my vote to a 9, but gave this release a 10 because of the stellar Atmos mix.

So while I'm glad that you enjoy the Atmos mix, and you are 100% within your rights to give this a 10, I feel like people here consistently break the ratings system by not actually rating based on the poll guidelines:
I encourage you to vote for the discs you own and vote your true thoughts. The voting is historically based on the following framework:

30% SURROUND MIX
- How good is this mix?
30% AUDIO FIDELITY - How does it sound?
30% CONTENT - Do you like it. Is it good music. Will you go back to it again?
10% OVERALL PACKAGE - Format, packaging, added value (extra discs), marbles, format, encoding, ease of play, menu layout, bonus content (videos, making of), documentation, and other things you like or don't like about it.

All previous votes, going back to 2005, are based on this formula, so changing it now is not practical or going to happen. Remember that these are guidelines, you do not have to adhere to the tabulation implicitly.
This is just my opinion, but if you order an expensive boxset that forces you to purchase the vinyl as a part of it, and the vinyl is bad, then at the very least I would have docked it 1, maybe 2 points. Mind you, this is a far-reaching problem across the polls on this site, where way too many 9s and 10s are thrown out, regardless of whether they are fully deserved or not.

Your point is well taken and I wasn't really sure if this was a vote for just the Blue Ray disc or the whole set. I think your right about the point deductions. So, had the pressing for the LP had been of a better quality, it's a definite 10. I think I can go back in and if I can I will indeed lower the rating to a 9.

I acknowledged a comment regarding my vote as a 10 when I was unhappy with the quality of the LP pressing. So I did go in and down rated the set from a 10 to 9. Keeping in mind I believe this is an awesome set and Atmos mix.

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I look to the QQ scores for multichannel ratings. I could not care less for any LP attributes. LP impact on a set should be noted in comments but not in the numerical score.

You are not in the minority. It's a shame someone posted a message which coerced another member to change their rating. It's a complete shame because it's bundled with a vinyl that can cause a rating to be altered.

I didnt think my remarks and my vote would be so controversial. I wasn't coerced by the way. I was on the fence between the 9 and 10 rating and quite honestly there seems to be confusion regarding whether we are rating the set as a whole or just the Atmos mix.

Looking at my comments I thought I made it pretty clear that I felt the Atmos mix was a 10. The LP brought the rating down to a 9 for the set as a whole.

With that, maybe there needs to be a clarification regarding what it is exactly for which we voting, the set or just the Atmos mix?

Anyway, none of you know me personally. So one thing about me is that I can't be coerced into anything. Many have tried, all have failed. I have a mind of my own. I will consider what others advise and I may or may not agree with the advice. In this case, what was advised made sense to me. So, we all have free will and I imagine everyone on Quadrophonic.com is passionate about the music!

I hope you all understand that I didn't feel coerced or felt bullied in any way. I appreciate all your comments and enjoy this greatly hobby!

I didn't coerce anyone, I simply pointed out the guidelines as I really think that the polls are becoming rather useless when everything gets an average score of 8 or 9. I made it abundantly clear that everyone is entitled to their own opinions and they are not wrong if they want to give things they love a 10. In this case I thought it was strange to give a set a 10 when one element of it was flawed (an element that you are forced to buy, by the way, if you want to even get the Blu-ray).

Anyhow, no intention to bring negative vibes here, just an observation I had about the polls which others have had as well before me.

I appreciated your comments and did not feel in any way that I was being coerced into changing my rating. I agree that too many 10s are given and it waters down the results. I do find the Atmos mix excellent. My wife gave it to me for my birthday by the way so it was a win win for me. I changed my score based on how you described the rating system. No negative vibes felt by me. Thanks again!
