2015 Surround Predictions/Wishlist

I remember reading once that CSNY's Deja-vu, and Tom Petty's Wildflowers were both mixed for DVD-A/SACD releases, and then shelved. Being favorites of mine, I would absolutely love to see these albums finally get released in 5.1; and seeing how both artists have had a propensity towards 5.1 releases in the past, I don't think it's an impossibility. However, probably unlikely.

More realistic predictions/wishlist:

Jethro Tull - Minstrel in the gallery
Opeth - Damnation (and possibly Deliverance?)
NIN - The Fragile (Seriously, what are you waiting for, Trent?!)

Nosound is working on a new studio album plus a live album. Given the past releases, surround will most likely be included.

It is not the album, but the 14 minute music video THRILLER is being retooled for 3-D by the music video's original director, John Landis. With all of the hoops that had to be jumped through to and all of the work that will be done, one can't help but assume the audio will get a 5.1 upgrade as well.

We need to get the Blood, Sweat & Tears and Best of Guess Who Multichannel SACDs out first, before talking about what is coming in 2015 from Audio Fidelity in Surround Sound SACD....

I've been playing the CD version of Bridge of Sighs lately(the 1996 version on the 2'fer CD)...which isn't bad for a CD......what a great album that is...love to have it in surround...

Rock of The Westies was unique because both Nigel Olsson and Dee Murray had been fired prior to the work on that album..

One has to be realistic here. NO CHANCE of Thriller(seek the upmix; it is great). MJ did not want it to be done in 5.1 in the first place.

However, with MJ out of the picture, that may not matter. I wonder who is making release decisions for his catalogue... For those with a Surround Master, run Thriller through it - pretty darn good!

Isn't Paul McCartney in charge of his catalog?
