here's rather game-changing info on the upcoming Mike Oldfield's release... *sigh*
from this emphasis on HiRes stereo, i came to conclusion 5.1 would be lossy DD or best case scenario DTSThe DVD in the Discovery deluxe contains The 1984 Suite in 5.1 surround sound (created by Mike, of course) and hi-res stereo and adds three promos (To France, Tricks of the Light and Etude).
It is a timing thing. After a while you cannot edit your posts anymore. So now the board won't let me edit my original post. I wanted to add Steven Wilson's new release and make some other edits. Anyone know why it won't allow me to edit?

Me two! The old 4.0 quad stuff is unfinished business imo. I want to see the rest of the great stuff get reissued in high res or even standard res.I'll definitely grab the Tears For Fears and all of the Roxy Music titles (whenever they come out). I must admit that I'm really curious as to what Audio Fidelity has in store for us in 2016. I hope 2016 is as good a year for Multichannel releases has 2015 has been.
Pink Floyd - Animals...
Pigs will fly before it happens I suspect...
Perhaps 2017...
I'd say Animals is rather unlikely next year, but the lady who seems to have some links with James Guthrie in AFG forum is hoping for a The Wall release in 2016. Who knows...
rtbluray;270397[B said:]"The Wall"[/B] should be released in 5.1 surround next year, but then again, I've been saying that almost every year since 2011!
I wonder though if Roger will be so keen to sign off on the release of a 5.1 surround mix of the original album after the gigantic ego trip that was his 4-year world tour and rockumentary film, which could in his mind now be the definitive presentation of that work…
I predict we'll see some Miles Davis titles come out. Next year would have been his 90th birthday, and his nephew Vince Wilburn, Jr. has said Sony has big plans for that milestone.
That's an easy prediction. There's usually a couple of them each month, especially from MFSL.
As posted by Aviv himself today, Blackfield returns to the recording studio this week. As you can see in their Facebook page, Steven seems to be actively involved in the sessions, same as Alan Parsons who, apart from producing the album, plays guitars, keys and vocals. I wonder who will create the 5.1 mix, can you imagine a joint venture by these two geniuses? It'd be like Superman and Catwoman having a child together :-D
I think that we are going to see some 5.1 remixes come out of left field.
Please please please please PLEASE let this collaboration between Alan Parsons and Steven Wilson result in Alan Parsons' own stuff getting done - and released - in surround.... AT LAST..!!!
