No shipping email either! and mine just turned up
Glad it came for you! Where from? Burning Shed or Cherry Red? If Cherry Red then hopefully mine shipped earlier in the week 🤞. Wish I could listen on release day but I can wait a little longer. Amazon Canada has a release date of March 3, always late as usual.

Mine arrived from Burning Shed yesterday. It's been great to listen to an album that was one of my favourites when it was originally released. Overall it is a static mix, and perhaps a little too rear biased. Sound quality is as good as expected from APP.
One thing that I found rather odd was the difficulty navigating and selecting menu items. The menus don't respond to the normal commands instead to select a menu item I have to click the remote's play button. Then if I try to change the volume with the amplifier remote, it sends me back to the top level menu! Weird...

Poll thread is up for any of you lucky bastards who got this today on release day:

As always, please refrain from posting in the above poll thread until you actually have the disc and have listened to it.
(Also, no discussions about the upcoming single-disc Blu-Ray edition in the poll thread either. Once the single-disc Blu-Ray edition is released, poll thread will be updated as such.)

My first impressions of this are similar to the 2020 Ammonia Avenue release - the use of the surround field is great, but the higher frequencies seem boosted to the point of harshness. I A/B'd "Games People Play" with the original stereo version on Apple Music and was shocked at how 'glassy' & hyped-up the 5.1 sounds in comparison, like the hi-hat is now the dominant instrument.

I'm not sure if it's the mixing or the mastering, but the last Parsons 5.1 mix that sounded really good to me was The Secret way back in 2019.

It's not as bad as the Al Stewart stuff. Is it? For me, AA was mastered hot. Eye less so. Tales was just right.
