The New York Times is unable to verify this death. All sources point to the Ringo Twitter, except Hollywood Reporter which says a "Universal spokesperson".

Hummmm?

So? There's now a lot of credible news sources confirming his death, including BBC News. The New York Times will follow suit when they have confirmed it themselves.

I had always appreciated George's talents as a producer, but it was his interviews in The Beatles "Anthology" that really made him special and "real" for me... the magic in his expressions as he slides the levers on the mixing board while talking about the stories behind the music he and The Beatles created together is fantastic. RIP and thank you, George.

I have that one...good performance...it's 5.1 Dolby Digital and is the usual concert approach...not discreet...just some bleed over from the fronts...but the vocals are clear..she is a smooth operator(y)

Thanks Clint. Wonder if anyone has both this one and the blu ray concert, and if so which would you pick if you could only have one? Sorry folks, but since retirement I can't be as free with my music spending as I used to be. :(

Hard choice. Both are concert "ambient" style surround mixes - the blu ray has the advantage of lossless DTS HD master sound. The DVD features a younger Sade & band giving ultimately a more energetic performance. The visuals are of course also stronger on the blu ray and Sade (still looking and sounding pretty good) & the band(mostly the same line-up) deliver an excellent show. Purely on performance I would go with the DVD - but you wouldn't be making a mistake with either one.

Excellent overview....those are the exact points I would have made...I usually tend to go for the older performance(the artist is younger)..in this case the DVD was from 1994 and the blu ray 2011...that's quite a difference...however this style of singing isn't like rock...it's not uncommon for these type of singers to be very capable at an older age...the demands of rock music are much more taxing on the vocal cords...since I really don't watch these concerts(at least the DVD's)..it's all about the music...
