I searched for playlists with Dolby Atmos in their title. This is one is interesting. It has some tracks where the entire album is not atmos and which might be hard to find. (Free Bird and Gimme three steps, for instance).

So, if you pay $200 for hardware and $200 for Apple Music a year, you get access to an unlimited amount of very specialized content (Atmos) that isn't going to be created otherwise.
Back in the day, $400 (when adjusted for inflation, etc) was a cheap afternoon at Tower Records! LOL

For those who are really into exploring music the math actually works.
If you only want to listen to the same old stuff you did 30 years ago...maybe not.

If you want an upgrade from VHS to 6K UltraHD in video, it isn't free (or cheap).
Neither is going from stereo to Atmos. Quality work is not cheap.
If you want cheap, there are many (lesser) ways to do DIY up-mixing from stereo.

Has anyone checked the loudness of Apple lossless? I pulled up supertramp even in the quietist moments in high resolution/9624 today and it is so bad. Brickwalled, so loud in complete contravention of the title of the album. My original CD is the best version I have of this, even the Japanese SHM version is brickwalled. So loss less is not necessarily a good thing

It would only be marked as Dolby Atmos if all the tracks were so encoded. Since there are "bonus tracks" that are just "lossless", the album doesn't get the tag.

There's this swedish producer, engineer, and musician who I stumbled upon on a Dolby Atmos testimonial video, Gabriel Lundh.
He recently mixed this:
