Do you know the release date? And we know the price will be right!Everybody, calm down. I heard there's no surround on the box set because it will be on a Dutton Vocalion twofer along with Rubber Soul!
He's confirmed that there will be an Atmos mix--but has he really confirmed that it will be part of the box (and not streaming-only)?No longer a rumor it seems! All we need now is the official release date!
Hopefully, a 'digital only' boxed set. Or even a standalone surround sound disc releaseHe's confirmed that there will be an Atmos mix--but has he really confirmed that it will be part of the box (and not streaming-only)?

It’s quite possible that he may not know the answer as the packaging probably isn’t his concern. We don’t know how far along into the process this project is along. He's confirmed that there will be an Atmos mix--but has he really confirmed that it will be part of the box (and not streaming-only)?
It would. And could only add to their justification for the high price. The discs probably cost them relatively nothing to press once the mix is done.It would seem quite preposterous to go through the process of creating an ATMOS remix of REVOLVER and NOT include it in the DELUXE box set like all previous Beatles' deluxe box sets to date!
You ask him, Jeffie....only he died in 2008 at the ripe ole age of 90Let's ask the Maharishi
Who's Next delayed until 2023, last I read. Can I actually fathom getting Revolver & Who's Next this year......?
It would be great if mix engineers truly understood the wants of their core customers for this surround stuff; which is... us here on the QQThe original multitracks are sufficient to make a very good multichannel mix, as demonstrated over 20 years ago. The use of modern technology to de-mix the multitracks should result in a superior mix in terms of discreteness. I just don’t think Giles and Sam will deliver.
Yeah, leave ALL remixing chores to the PROS: E. Scheiner, B. Clearmountain and S. Wilson or those majestic QUAD gurus from the early to mid 70's like Larry Keyes, et alia!It would be great if mix engineers truly understood the wants of their core customers for this surround stuff; which is... us here on the QQ
The Abbey Road and Let It Be-era tracks were nothing special in 5.1 on the 2015 1/1+ Blu-Ray, but the 50th anniversary album remixes ended up being great. Maybe that compilation was a rush job, possibly involving upmixing? I haven't listened to the new streaming Atmos version of 1/1+, but the old 5.1 Blu-Ray certainly has that feel. In any case, it wouldn't be crazy to expect better results on the dedicated album remix. However, is anyone really expecting to be thrilled with the surround sound mix and for it to be more discrete than the Revolver-era tracks available on the 1 streaming Atmos mix?
