Lutz Meinert (from Reflection Club) said in an interview that Ian Anderson did not contacted him and perhaps Ian didn't know about his impressive "Still Thick as a Brick". ..... Sad....

The composition of vocal melodies for his last albums are restricted by the Ian's current vocal power.

I think, that's why they sound so dull and so samey.
