'ow queer..!! :yikes

Adam, I've just looked at the Oppo menu, and noticed LPCM Rate set at 192 ( I'm sure I've altered this previously ? ) I've set it to 96, it is now playing back in DTS-HD MA, strangely tried to skip track and got buzzing again.....MAD !!!!

oh bloody hell..!! :( what is going on with it!? I wonder if anybody else on here has experienced similar problems?

I'm just playing the Dolby True HD, ( I don't fancy listening to 3hrs of The Rolling Stones...but intending to leave it, without skipping tracks....I don't get buzzing, when skipping in Dolby or PCM.
Strangely, I can access DTS, of any track, ( from where it's last played ) but it won't play the next track, just keep getting buzzing. I've tried a Blu Ray film with DTS HD MA, and had no problems, ever.
Baffled !!!

hmm.. I wish I could be more help! try getting the Oppo to decide the disc rather than bitstreaming it to your AVR?

no probs, you're welcome as ever :)

I just switched back to the Sony, and that's the same, plays PCM & Dolby options, but buzzes on DTS. The only conclusion I can come to is the AVR, although, as I've said I've never had any problem with decoding, with any other disc.

( I'm not looking forward to the new BD - A releases, so much now. :( )

Do you normally have to update the firmware yourself, Adam ( Oppo 93, as you know ) I've only had one update appear on the screen since purchasing.
Tried all the options you suggested with the first disc I had....will try again & get back to you. Thanks
Hi, which firmware version do youhave?
October 2012 the last official FW was released for the 93/95. In March a public beta versikn was released as well.

Here are the link to the US and EU firmware,

whats wrong with PCM? ;) ;)

Regarding the upcoming Blu-Rays: meh/yay! It sounds like these will all be re-releases of previously available material. Sure, it'll be cool to have some 5.1 mixes available for decent prices again, but obviously, I would have loved new ones. Supertramp for instance.

One thing I would buy in a heartbeat is a proper remaster of ABBA Gold! That album's been released and re-released more times than I care to count, but all the remasters have picked up loud criticism. One of the first CDs I ever owned (back in 1993 or so) and I'll buy it in a heartbeat if it comes out properly remastered on BD.

I cannot wait to see what ABBA album they've got up their sleeve for BDA..!!!

Personally I'd love everything from "Waterloo" to "The Visitors" but somehow I don't see it

I reckon we'll get either Arrival (thanks partly to journo's raving on about the remasters' sound quality when it came out.. just as shit sticks, so does good shit, sometimes!) or The Album (hey we could all do with a 6th mastering of that!) :D

The firmware information states : BDPxEU-74-0908 ( If that's any help ? )

I would guess Oct 2012 was around the time I had firmware update information appear....purchased, August before.

Yes, that is the latest official Fw release. I guess the beta FW will not solve your problem, as it does not mentikn anything related to that.

To get the picture, you bitstream the DTS MA to your receiver and you get a buzzing noise in your FL speaker? I cannot bitstream as I have my player directly connected to my amps. When I play the GRRR disc, I use the PCM tracks, I can try DTS track, tosee what is going on.

Yes it's set to bitstream, at some point this afternoon I changed that, and was playing back a film, and got no sound at all, so switched back to bitstream.
I'm just baffled that I play back DTS HD MA 5.1 for films, but can't play the option on this RS disc ( although, I have played one track, with DTS, and then the next always buzzes. ( there is no music, just buzzing ) It is definitely coming from front left....might be from others too ?
