I have the AF SACD, but I never play it as the music don't grab me and I'm more of an Atmos music guy now. No buy for me.
Are you saying something is wrong with the AF 5.1?Who reported that? It's one of the best mixes! The original quad not the 5.1.
It was part of the first batch of CBS quad LPs (the ones with the thick gold-bordered covers) issued in 1972, but the quad mix may have been created several years before then. Was this an early quad mix? It was recorded in 1968 if memory serves.
Yes, it lacks the "punch" of the original quad and of the stereo version. I had the same complaint of the "Roxy Music" disc. I haven't listened to it in a long while but did post my thoughts in the pole thread. The guitars are buried in the mix not prominent like they should be.Are you saying something is wrong with the AF 5.1?

Ordered! The quad is awesome on the Q8. Hopefully this is the same mix. I have the AF 5.1 which is nice but the quad tape is my go to.
