this is the version you want.

Tracks 1-13 are the original album in Dolby Atmos.

all but one of the extra tracks from the equivalent of Disc 2 of the 10th Anniversary CD set (1-9) are Lossless Stereo.

Track 8 from Disc 2, "The Writing Of Fragments Of Time", is in Atmos.

Excellent, thank you so much. Not sure what I was looking at. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘

do you remember the name of the fella listed on Tidal? ๐Ÿง

wasn't Mick Guzauski by any chance?
Mick Guzauski is indeed credited as mix engineer on Tidal for the 360 mix, though thereโ€™s always the possibility credits are being carried over from the original

That is him. When I searched, I didn't see his name associated with any mixes other than stereo. Maybe I missed something?
he's a very experienced engineer indeed and his work in Surround goes right the way back to the days of Quad when he mixed such albums as Chuck Mangione's "Bellavia" in 4-channel for A&M in 1975 for CD-4 LP.

in regards to 5.1 music, QQers may have seen his name appear on such discs as Michael McDonald's "Motown" DVD-Audio & SACD & "Motown 2" SACD, Derek & The Dominos' "Layla" SACD, Eric Clapton's "Reptile" DVD-Audio, "461 Ocean Boulevard" SACD, "Back Home" DVD Audio DualDisc & B.B. King's "Reflections" SACD & "Riding With The King" DVD-Audio.

he also mixed Michael Jackson's "Thriller" in 5.1 some 20-odd years ago but the mix was somewhat infamously rejected by Jackson himself.

Wonder why they didn't go back to him for the 360 RA version of Thriller? ("Guzauski tried to conceive of his Thriller mix as a multichannel experience from the ground up.")

Here he is on mixing the stereo version of RAM:

yeah, i wish he'd done "Thriller", it couldn't have been any worse.. ah well.. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ tbh we're not sure he's done RAM.. but it feels like the wind is blowing in the right direction ๐ŸŒฌ๐Ÿ˜‹

What's your issue with Thriller?
ah i dunno, it's not "Bad" ๐Ÿ˜‰ it's just one of those mixes, the more i listen to it, the less knocked out i am by it. i think initially i was just so happy to hear it in any kind of Surround.. now there's maybe half the tracks i get that feeling it could've maybe / should've been more adventurous.. ๐Ÿค”

I've only listened to the decoded 360 version, but it doesn't ever fail to impress. Maybe I am just easy to impress, haha. I really like the dynamics and the bass on it.

edit...
I just noticed you gave DSOTM a six. Damn, you do play hard to get. :D

ah! ๐Ÿ˜Š you're far from easily impressed! ๐Ÿ˜‰

i docked the DSOTM Atmos by 2 points for the mix which i find quite uninspired for such awe-inspiring music and by 2 points for the sound quality on Apple Music, which i find wooly and ill-defined.

that said, i may well amend my "6" vote to a "7" or even "8" once i've heard the Atmos on disc, too many people say the disc sounds superior to the streaming in order for me to discount that aspect altogether, so we shall see in the fullness of "Time"! ๐Ÿ™‚
