This will be the first time we hear the entire piece in discrete quad - it was edited down due to the “mechanical limitations” of Q8.
I found some earlier QQ entries about this, including your own Jonathan (and what source was the Carmina Burana for D-V mastered from?):
Taken from the CBS/SONY Japanese SQ LP masters? *Edit- or all the same masters just encoded for different formats?

OK gang. I'm not buying 6. I'm either buying 2 or 4. Tell me what to get.

I donno, Gene...if your tastes in classical run towards the middle of the road, then probably pass on the Schoenberg. And if you don't care for opera, then never mind La Boheme. I'm not a big fan of organ music, myself, but as Adam says, these E. Power Biggs recordings have a reputation as being showcase quad.

Orff/Gershwin and Copland for sure. And I'm a sucker for Shostakovich (and I know that these Ormandy dates are nice and discrete). So...

Also, I've only got one Carmina Burana and I believe it's this DVD-A (never thought it was very discrete), but then it's usually a large choir singing it, so does it really lend itself that well to surround recording in the first place? Unless they somehow mic'd various sections of the choir.
Where's that @steelydave guy been hiding anyway?
So yeah, I better order this new one for sure, especially since the RHAPSODY IN BLUE is included it's just icing on the cake (or a Double Caker -Maybe )
I also notice a pattern with D-E / D-V; release the classical/opera titles and then shortly afterward- here comes da funk
Oh, and here's some background on Carmina Burana for an interesting read:

I feel like I'm talking to myself here...

Do your tastes run middle of the road, and will you pass on Schoenberg?

I went just 'a little bit crazy' ordering 4 of the newly remastered Classical SACDs from D~V and a Paul Mauriat two~fer Stereo SACD and 16 RBCDs* at D~V's sale prices [most £.99~£1.99 for double CDs]. I had them all shipped Priority mail and for those who don't have Epoch's FREEBIE sampler ....... by all means get it: https://www.duttonvocalion.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=CDSPA2008

*including Benny Goodman Live at Carnegie Hall and Live in Copenhagen/ Gabor Szabo/ Mancini/Mathis/Cleo Laine/Martin Denny/Arthur Fiedler/Peter Nero, etc.

SUPPORT DUTTON VOCALION .... THEY'RE OUR LAST BASTION OF HOPE FOR QUALITY [AND AFFORDABLE] MULTICHANNEL SACDs! AND THEIR RBCDs [REMASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL ANALOGUE MASTERS] ain't too shabby, either!

Luckily, my cash flow is okay right now, so...for the first time ever I can say "ordered all six"! Schoenberg's not my favorite, but I do like the Gurre-lieder.

I'm not an opera fan, humprof, so avoided the two vocal D~Vs .... but as stated above, a USED Q8 of Chávez is going for $60 + $6.50 s/h and local sales tax ..... OVER $70 for 3 3/4 ips quality!!!!!!!!

Cannot wait for the next batch!

Would love for Mr Dutton to post here..........would love to know how he finds those quad tapes and multi tracks. I bet he also found Jimmy Hoffas body too.

You can rest easy that Mr. Dutton sees everything written here regarding Dutton-Vocalion. He may not post but he's overlooking the place for sure. 🕵️‍♂️
