Going into this stone cold, I can assure you once you get beyond the bravura performances of both Diane Lane and Kevin Costner and an over the top Lesley Manville as the evil matriarch of a good ole boys clan, this is a film which will resonate with you for days!

The Shining 4K Steelbook [Zavvi] : r/Steelbooks

Limited STEELBOOK Edition

Now that my SONY Laser Projector and sound system are sufficiently broken in, I've been revisiting Classic UHD4K films and last night I had an occasion to watch Stanley Kubrick's magnificent THE SHINING in what can only be described as an UBER State of the Art Native UHD4K replication from WARNER!

From the opening aerial shots of Colorado's majestic mountain ranges to the initial shots of the eerie Overlook Hotel, John Alcott's stunning cinematography captured Kubrick's vision unlike any other in recent memory. And the performances from all involved and the constant forboding added to the unease throughout The Shining's over 2 hour runtime!

This is what UHD4K was meant to accomplish. Visceral images in pluperfect replication with stunning state of the art audio. No, it wasn't ATMOS but what was on display was atmospheric to a fault.

A perfect companion to another Warner home run from the Kubrick canon: 2001: A Space Odyssey!

DOES IT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS?
