Pressure. Faking it is what I do best. :ROFLMAO: :SB
Fake it 'til you make it! Seriously, you go into great detail about every aspect of the release, from your ripping experience through listening to EACH disc in the sets, and even the books! I always get excited when i see you have posted in a poll thread . . . that may be a reflection on just how little excitement is in my life, but i don't think so! Stay Surrounded, Comrade!

Mine arrived Friday afternoon (a day early) in VERY robust packaging from Importcds - perfect for a long weekend of listening. First spin confirms this is another great SW surround mix, with improved clarity, discreteness and impact. Cliche I know, but definitely hearing details, particularly synth and guitar flourishes, I haven't noticed before. A huge package to read and listen to, for sure.

The way they've attached 3 discs on the front and back book covers is a bit challenging at first but seems to work, although one of the discs was loose in the book (but thankfully undamaged). Hope the plastic springs hold up over time.

This is another deep dive in sound. I just finished the 5.1 DVD 1 surround listen and listening now still DVD 1, SW remix Associated Recordings, stereo.
I am a little disappointed in the musical content, I probably had too high of expectation, but definitely at first listen, not my favorite or I should say, it is down the list in the Tull catalog.
The Steven Wilson surround mix and quality is excellent.
I have ripped and tagged, the 5 accompanying CD's, 1-5.
There is a lot more to do to fully experience this music, but time to go to the gym, don't want to be a couch potato.
Happy Labor Day Weekend to all you working stiffs, especially to all of us who do manual labor, roofing has been good to me, but now I spend time trying to reverse the damage done.

That was my assessment when many outtakes were released on Nightcap. I think Ian did the right thing in not releasing most of those sessions and going back in the studio to record what would make up the majority of BatB.

My ordering notes, perhaps of use to those who have not pulled the trigger yet:

I received mine today from Deep Discount. I paid a total of $64.86 including KY state sales tax, using the 10% off code DEEP10 (not sure this will work for everyone, I cheated a bit by opening a new account under a different email address, and provided my cell phone #, to get the code). It ended up being a tiny bit cheaper than it would have been from importCDs (which is really the same company) with no discount code, because shipping is free from Deep Discount for orders over $25, unlike importCDs which would have charged $2.99. I did not pre-order, I waited until a few hours into the release date of Sept. 1 and ordered it about 2 am Eastern. I received it today, amazingly, even though it was sent Media Mail - but that's only because I live less than 100 miles away from their warehouse, which is south of Louisville. It was shipped in a sturdy corrugated cardboard mailer and arrived undamaged. I've seen a lot of complaints on QQ about Deep Discount/importCDs/popmarket, but I've never had an issue with any of them, except for Deep Discount cancelling my Thick As A Brick order early this year due to a "technical issue" (they promptly refunded my payment). Again, I live close, so I'm sure that's a factor in delivery times. I can't promise everyone else would have a similar experience, but thought I'd share mine for your consideration.

I haven't had a chance to pop the shrinkwrap to examine it, let alone listen. My fanatical devotion to Tull kind of ended as the 70s did, after Stormwatch, but the reissue of the A album greatly increased my appreciation for it from my original impression, and I'm guardedly optimistic that that will repeat for Broadsword with this beauty. I wish it had been less expensive, more in line with the previous Tull "book" reissues, but compared to the ones coming from Pink Floyd, Rush, etc. etc., I still consider it a value for 8 discs of content.

I found references about a still unreleased instrumental called "Three Day Song" which was apparently mentioned on the "A New Day" magazine in the 90s, possibly considered for release on the 20th Anniversary box. Could this be one of these titles?

Just wanted to point out that, according to the bookset, this was the recording title for "Mayhem, Maybe" :)

Ok so how long did it take everyone else to figure out the spring-loaded disc retrieval mechanism? Thought I was losing my mind trying to pry those CDs out in order to get to the good stuff - DVD 1, which is buried deep within. Finally figured it out.
