I was wondering since GLOBE is a Sub-label of JVC, would you want to include it in the thread's Title?

So far it's a nice mellow Nini album with good Quad surround orchestration.

I'm still working on the CD-4 LP cover scans, but can post them here also when done, if you feel OK with it?

This pamphlet may be located on other threads, I'm not sure; but thought I'd add it here for historical purposes, in good quality scans.

I think Globe was kind of a JVC Japan vanity label (at least in the context of CD-4 releases) for western artists, or at least a couple of them anyway, Nini Rosso and Fausto Papetti.

There are a number of labels represented in these tapes so I didn't bother putting them all in, but JVC issued quad releases from a number of Western labels that they distributed, including Paramount (Billy Vaughn, Nino Rota), Motown (these are well known), AVCO (Stylistics, Louis Armstrong) and others.

That pamphlet is really interesting, if only because it gives release dates for a large number of the releases in the CD4B, CD4W and CD4K series. I've never done a dedicated discography for them - maybe if I can get my hands on more pamphlets like the one you found, it would be worth doing?

To me it seems the label Globe was used by JVC for export pressings, since the copyright on the Victor brand and logo belonged to someone else in USA/Europe. A more elegant way to avoid the stickering on the labels and covers.

Looks like a rare find, and didn't know it even had a Q8 version, I have the Japanese CD-4 version of that- JVC – CD4W-7038E; an interesting listen, do you know how much it went for?

Thanks for this, I'll update the listings in the first post - aside from confirming the existence of this title it also is a bit of a revelation in that the highest catalog number I have for this series is NQW-7013 so being that it's 7021 it means that most likely NQW-7014 through 7020 exist, and maybe more as well.

What I thought most fascinating about this was the location. The auction said this tape was in FRANCE. So that now has me thinking.... are there Quad people in France exporting these from Japan or.... did these tapes have European Distribution back in the day?

There's some information about this in my first post, the various tape series made by JVC were intended for different markets - the ones ending in 'W" (QW, NQW) were seemingly for 'Worldwide' audiences and feature packaging entirely in English. Sort of the tape equivalent of how many of the JVC CD-4s came in two variants, a 'regular' one for Japan, and an export/english one with an 'E' suffix, ie. CD4W-7010 for Japan and CD4W-7010E for everywhere else.

JVC made a ton of Q8 decks, maybe more worldwide than any other company - it's no surprise that they'd want to have some material available for new owners to buy. I suspect that JVC dealers in certain markets probably imported these tapes along with the hardware.

Distribution of JVC quads in italy, mostly LP but sometimes also q8, was done mainly by hifi shops that needed the quad software to demo (first) and feed (the buyer) with quad software, since local releases were close to 0. Regular quads from majors (RCA, Columbia....) both LP and q8 were imported by the major local branch and distribuited with the ordinary channels.
For France the situation is worse than Italy (and the italian one isn't good at all): as for Lp, french pressings of SQ-EMI-related classical labels (usually pressed in Germany and Italy too at least, UK has a different cat. scheme), LOT of french pressing of Decca / IPG QS Lp, some Vanguard (even fake quads) and Cosmic Joker pressing, and other than that... very few non-classical releases:

As you can see only the first is a real french chansonnier.

What is more intresting from a historical perspective, is this french ep done for Grundig

https://www.discogs.com/release/9630169-Various-Special-Quadriphonie-SQ,

With a tracklist like that you can see below, you would think it was from 1972. It has been pressed in 1976, toward the end of the USA quad era.
This probably explain why quad in france was very scarce: too late, too little. There are more quad LP of french artists pressed in Japan that in France...

To add to the post above, no French Q8 known as today.
French songs does appears, as badly done cover versions and more badly mixed quad mix, on several Senn-Sound Q8 from Switzerland. Since it is a country with three languages (german french italian) their releases deal with hits-of-the-moment from all three national charts.
