Son, are you Country? - Ma'am I am tonight!

- Listened to the 5.1 tonight and would love a Poll to sink my teeth into this one. Many things I liked about it and some things I think could have been improved (at least for my taste.)
- This is one I believe to really be effective you should turn it up loud as you can stand. I don't often say that, but here I think it matters, as the midrange & low end seems a little tame until turned up. Also the mix at times seems two dimensional and at other times lots of solo guitar flying around. The stand out track for me is: "Take It On Home", just had a great feel and I believe KWS' style sounds better as Country Rock than the others. Really loved the Mr. Soul and Turn To Stone covers. Also a whole lot more Joe Sublett on saxophone would have helped the arrangements.
But overall I believe this is a slam dunk must buy if you like Country Blues Rock.
Don't hesitate, just buy it!!!
It gets the "Pupster's Trench Coat Corner" seal of approval!

I haven't listened yet, but I got it ripped. 24/48 for both the stereo and the 5.1 tracks. It seems to me 24/96 is much more common on Blurays

It is more common, but Atmos mix's seem to only be 24/48.....is that right? Hell, my brain is flat, so I could be making that up. lol
Could very well be. I don't have any other Atmos releases that I've ripped. The Atmos shows up as 7.1 Dolby in MKV. So if this is right, in general, we take a small resolution hit with Atmos releases.

It is 24/48 for the Atmos; which according to Garry is typical for Blu-Ray Atmos; but I just wonder why that is, for this day and age, wouldn’t 24/96 be easily achievable? While in MakeMKV I did notice many different iterations of output for this title. Maybe to please everyone, (everything but the kitchen sink) it ends up filling the disc?

IIRC there were only 2 purely music titles on it, Title 1 and Title 2, each with 10 chapters. Title 1 was the Atmos mix along with stereo PCM Title 2 was the 5.1 mix, again with stereo PCM. I cant remember if it had a DTS and a Dolby selection. I always choose the DTS or PCM anyway. The truly odd thing to me was even the stereo mix was 24/48. Even when you got the occasional 5.1 BRD that was in a 48kHz format the stereo tracks were typically 24/96.

There is a bunch of video on this disk though. I don't remember the total size, but it might be a capacity issue.

Thanks for the video reminder; I need to watch those. And for those into format ****; I may unfold all the sub- menus on this title and post the screen shots, probably several pages worth!

When my disc arrived the case was broken but the disc was fine. I phoned Amazon and they gave me a discount of $8 so the disc only cost me $12cdn.
Hey, I'd take that deal all day long, unless it's a real special kind of case, (unlikely-unless small corner SACD style Supers) I really don't give a hoot.
