In this collection you will find two albums in Multichannel DSD as well as Stereo DSD, our latest release from Opus3-Footprint, and the newest release from Eudora that was recorded direct to DSD 256 Stereo and DSD 256 Multichannel with no DXD or PCM processing.

Of interest here is the Sennheiser Special Edition of Bach: Inside Polyphony which has a new 4-Channel Quadraphonic Mix - different from the 5.1 mix of the original 2L release using DPA Microphones.

For Friday, July 12, 2019, NativeDSD releases a new Multichannel and Stereo DSD album of organ music from the Artes Mirabiles label - The Organ In A Russian Home.
More information on the album appears in the NativeDSD Blog. This is a DSD Exclusive, Not Available on SACD release.

The Organ In A Russian Home featuring Olesya Rostovskaya (organ) and Dmitry Grinikh (baritone) is the 6th DSD release from Artes Mirabiles. It was released on Friday, July 12, 2019, and is already among our Top DSD Best Sellers.
On the Native DSD Blog, album producer Alexey Pogarskiy tells us about this new release. "Friedrich Ladegast’s organ (1868) in Russian National Museum of Music. This is the instrument this recording was made on.

It is generally believed that organ music appeared in Russia about 150 years ago with the opening of the conservatoires in St Petersburg and Moscow. Friedrich Ladegast’s organ, which was used on this recording and is believed to be the oldest surviving organ in Russia, dates back to that era. In reality it was not merely 150 years but, rather, a thousand years ago that organ music entered Russia culture together with other forms of Byzantine art.

Olesya Rostovskaya, opens her project, The Organ in a Russian Home, with her vision of an historical composition Ceremonial Music of the Byzantine Emperors. At that time organs were usually small and portable, with large keys which organists pressed with their fists or even their elbows. For this reason the composition employs only the largest keys, the pedal keys, and is played only with the feet...." (continues on the NativeDSD Blog post, linked below)

damn...dream theater, abbey road, king crimson x 2, devin townsend, pink floyd...looks like an expensive year to me

Fair to say 2019 music has been easy on my wallet, not much to my liking on the rock genre to select. Besides the DV Guess Who, and the 1st premium release Abbey Road to finish the year just 2 bought. Really would've liked to have been listening to Animal's surround and maybe the original Quad from 1977. On the classical genre did pick up 2 Tomita's, total is under $200 (new offerings, not counting used). I spent more on 4k steelbook and 3D Blu-Ray titles which is a horse of a different color but still money spent.

In light of today's big announcements (Pink Floyd's Later Years set & XTC's Dukes of Stratosphear compilation) I have updated my avatar accordingly.
(It most certainly seems like "Animals" will not be released this year, so it's been replaced by "A Momentary Lapse of Reason". "The Seeds of Love" is still in my avatar as I'm still clinging to hope that it will be released in the last quarter of this year. Hope Springs Eternal!)

That's the plan.
"In the Court of the Crimson King" will feature a new 5.1 mix (different to the one that was released in 2009)
"In Absentia" should have the same 5.1 mix that was originally released on DVD-A/V last decade, but the mastering might be different.

Isn’t In The Court of the Crimson King 50th coming out in October on its anniversary? If yes, we should be able to pre-order very soon. DGM is making quite a fuss about the 50th with all those new t shirts and downloads all year. I thought there would be some fantastic roll out by now announcing this thrakmendous offering. Or is going to see the light of day for their 51st anniversary?
