Herb Alpert - Music Volume 3 / Reimagines..
Modern reworkings of many TJB classics.
The first track (The Lonely Bull) had me worried but the rest of the album works just fine. Faithful and new at the same time.
And the sound quality is great

Yoko - La Japonesa Salsera
This is the bonus disc on one of those ‘Rough Guide To’ compilations.
A Japanese singer doing salsa? Why not?
I have limited exposure to salsa so not qualified to say whether or not she pulls it off. She certainly has energy so I’m enjoying the album

Various - The Rough Guide to Salsa Divas
Like most comps of this type it’s uneven.
Sound quality varies. Some voices are nice, while others are annoying.
About 50/50 in the ‘like’ vs ‘meh’ scale
Unlikely this will get played often

The Rough Guides are hit and miss for me. I find the Putumayo stuff to be more even across a theme.
These are the ones I listen to the most ...
Rough Guide To Cajun And Zydeco [2012]
Putumayo Presents - Kermit Ruffins [2005]
Putumayo Presents Café Cubano [2017]
Putumayo Presents Gypsy Caravan [2001]
Putumayo Presents Italia [2009]
Putumayo Presents Zydeco [2001]

Depeche Mode - Delta Machine
The version in book style packaging with a 4 track bonus disc.
Great album. A bit slower pace than I’d normally like but the production & cool sounds kept me interested. The last 3 tracks on the main album faded a bit but the rest, including the bonus tracks, warrant repeated listens
