Saw Mother’s Finest live multiple times at small clubs for little or no cover charge while attending NC State University in Raleigh, North Carolina from 1975-1979 and they were never short of scintillating! They also had a self titled debut album that was fantastic. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia.I was listening to the Dutch Radio station Arrow Classic Rock on the internet and they played a track from a band I'd never heard of. So I tracked it down, and it arrived a few days ago Mother's Finest "Another Mother Further" some great soul-funk-bluesy-hard-rock from 1977. I don't know how I'd never heard of them, possibly as they are a US band, so they were never played on UK radio. Anyway its great, a kind of Tina Turner meets Deep Purple's Stormbringer with a dash of the Isley Brother's!
