Early (beta) days yet, but it's looking like those of us waiting to see major--or even minor--improvements in the Apple Music app under macOS 16 (Ventura) will be waiting a bit longer. The only change mentioned so far is this:

Keep track with favorites

Keep track of the artists you care about most with new music notifications and improved recommendations.

As for Apple Music on the ATV4K running tvOS 16: no word.
This would have merit if they could provide update on Atmos encoded content- in addition to artists.

Anyone know if there’s anything coming in technology that would enable lossless ATMOS/5.1 surround streaming?

Wishes have been granted.🙀 Finally the surround-release all the 3 year old surround-heads have been waiting for:

As a 27 year old, I’m legit kinda upset they didn’t include their genuinely great cover of Tame Impala’s Elephant in this.

Done for a show for an Australian Radio station, ended up winning song of the year in that station’s end of year voting.

A word of warning to those contemplating updating to latest TV OS version 16. It doesn’t completely fix the all Atmos indicator bug- but has significantly reduced the playback volume on Atmos encoded content to Tidal- like levels.

I provided feedback to Apple considering this as an unwanted bug in the new operating system.
Oof--that's a giant step backward. (The absence of a playback-volume issue was always the one clear advantage that Apple held in the "Tidal vs. Apple" debate.) Appreciate the heads-up, though, and thanks for reporting it to Apple. I immediately turned off "Auto-Update."

This is a significant release for Australian rock. Hugely popular and influential album from local artist. Hopefully the mix does it justice:

.

Recommended listening to all international listeners (albeit with the caveat that I am yet to hear the surround treatment).
Yes happy to say it’s great, it passed the goosebump test.
All of their albums I tried so far are in Atmos……brilliant.
Love to know who did the mix and maybe more Australian rock is in Atmos.
The high light so far and I’ve only scratch the surface is this.

Now the funny business is happening with powder finger, I had playing in Atmos but when I paused and played again it went back to stereo even it still shows Atmos.

Tidal has only Odyssey number 5 listed as Atmos. Immersive engineer is Nick Didia which produced and mixed the original. https://tidal.com/album/571152

Yeah it was all going so well and then Nick Didia starts mixing in surround again... 😢😁

He could learn a lot from this Country album.

Old Dominion - Time, Tequila & Therapy. Really like the mix on this. It's a got some nice tunes too. 🤠 And Gladys Knight!
Tidal - 360RA - https://tidal.com/browse/album/199272040
