Very cool! Valtari never showed up on Tidal in the US but this one has: 256602820
Yes, it was only a matter of time - these are now on Apple too:

Serge Gainsbourg - You're Under Arrest
Serge Gainsbourg - Love On The Beat
Serge Gainsbourg - Mauvaises nouvelles des étoiles
Serge Gainsbourg - Aux armes et caetera
I hope I am not wrong that the only SG album left to transfer from Tidal is Jane Birkin & Serge Gainsbourg. (Edit: Yep, I was wrong, it's the Bonnie And Clyde album with BB that is still MIA - thanks @pashalifi for the heads up!)
The mixes by Poussin are very good and the SQ is excellent. Interestingly, Poussin's mixes for other artists (yes, you can search by the name) are relatively somewhat subpar, but that can be different genres. Or me.
I think the only studio album without an Atmos mix is actually the debut album, Du chant à la une! Not sure what's holding that one up, as it seems to have been done, at least according to the article below. My bad, this is the one, thanks! Must have got lost in the online maze or maybe them beer mugs...
Would this make Serge Gainsbourg the first (major. There are smaller projects like Mamoosh that are 100% Atmos) artist to have their entire catalogue in Atmos?I think the only studio album without an Atmos mix is actually the debut album, Du chant à la une! Thanks for identifying the mixer, whose name I hadn't seen before.

Now to gather all of these mixes onto a Blu-Ray box set? And next . . . Jacques Brel?
The Doors & Talking Heads recently I guess but they had a lot less releases! There could be (hopefully will be) others? You could also say Kraftwerk in a roundabout way as the 3-D catalogue covers every album...Would this make Serge Gainsbourg the first (major. This is what Atmos mixes should sound like.....It's a tour de force!!
Agreed really great mix. This is what Atmos mixes should sound like.....It's a tour de force!!
Yeah David Leonard has done some really nice Atmos mixes. He's part of a few peeps I noticed in the early days on Tidal with him and others like Mills Logan, Dustin Richardson and Nick Rives doing great stuff. Thanks man! Always helpful in sniffing out other mixes.
Hang onto that info, @MrSmithers--we need to get it into the database for the new site that @HomerJAU is toiling away at!Yeah David Leonard has done some really nice Atmos mixes. He's part few peeps I noticed in the early days on Tidal with him and others like Mills Logan, Dustin Richardson and Nick Reeves doing great stuff.
As well as Eat A Peach - he also did a couple of Allman Brothers tracks form Brothers And Sisters - Jessica & Ramblin' Man. Although personally I thought they weren't all that, mix wise...
But some of the others he's done are great... Kiss - I Was Made For Loving You, The Buggles - Video Killed The Radio Star, Don McLean - American Pie, Free - All Right Now, Pat Benatar - Love Is A Battlefield, Steve Winwood - Higher Love, Kim Carnes - Bette Davis Eyes, The J. Geils Band - Centerfold, Oingo Boingo - Weird Science to name but a few...
That's not that surprising. Weren't those early Allman mixes from the first few months of the Apple Atmos dealio? So many mixers have claimed in interviews that there's "definitely a learning curve" when it comes to Atmos. 10,000 hours and all that...Yeah David Leonard has done some really nice Atmos mixes. This album put me into a very pleasant, almost trance-like state when I listened late last night. Well, I heard most of it, it's really long! The mix sounds great to me, on my 5.1 system, well-balanced, very immersive, appropriate for the music, despite not blowing anyone away on the discreteness scale. I have several albums by this band but had never actually heard this one before. In parts, I was reminded of Set Your Controls-era Pink Floyd, very spacy and psychedelic, and other times, the spirit of Thom Yorke's almost disembodied vocal style wafts up. Not a party album, for sure, unless the party is in need of a mellow comedown after a long trippy night... but perfect if you're in a relaxed, contemplative mood.Hows this? Looking forward to it
An interesting point on this specific Sigur Ros album is that, like the majority of their work, they use their own invented language, known as vonlenska (english translation: hopelandic), which is a combo of Icelandic, and gibberish that *sounds* like it's Icelandic. Specifically ( ), as an untitled (and in the physical versions... unlabeled. Discs are white) album the lyrics on *all songs* is: "í sayr lon yu ón fur gurr ón", with each song containing a slight variation on it. The idea being that the feel of each track would influence what that means, because it means... nothing. This album put me into a very pleasant, almost trance-like state when I listened late last night. This is one of my fav albums of all time, so I'm pretty familiar with it hehe having said that, expectations are quite high for the mix.An interesting point on this specific Sigur Ros album is that, like the majority of their work, they use their own invented language, known as vonlenska (english translation: hopelandic), which is a combo of Icelandic, and gibberish that *sounds* like it's Icelandic.
