I checked some of this out last night and really enjoyed the active mix.

Immersive Mix Engineer: Stephen Lipson (Nick Rives did the Billy Eilish track which was really nice as well)

nice! Stephen Lipson did the Atmos mix of XPropaganda! let's hope he's doing more Atmos mixing because he's clearly good at it and maybe Agent 007 will be SDE's number 007 Exclusive Blu-ray!

I'm not going on the numbers, just on listening to the mix: they are VERY different, with the "1" mix being quite traditional, front heavy, with the lead guitar prominent in the left soundstage and the backing vocals slightly separated. In the new mix the whole 3D soundstage is involved, with heavy emphasis on harmonies. The lead guitar is slightly damped down, and in the stage right instead. As the numbers support, it sounds quite a bit more dynamic..but Paul's bass is a bit more prominent in the "1" release..at least on my system.

I must edit this response of mine in a significant way. I was wondering about that feeling I had that the "!" compilation's bass was more prominent than the 2022 mix, but that is way wrong.

I happened to be listening to my average bluetooth pods and really enjoying the 2022 mix of Revolver on them (while working in the back yard, especially sitting during breaks ) today, and decided to do the PW comparison again. Not close, the bottom end depth and definition on the 2022 mix is much better than on "1" (bass drum, kick, everything). So....I went back to my audio room and tweaked the sub settings at both the subs and at the pre/pro, remeasured, and voila...this experience has helped me dial in the lower registers nicely.

P.S. must go look for the eligible-compatible Atmos earpods. It won't be my theater but even if it's faux-Atmos-while-being-mobile....why not.

Pretty sure there are at least a handful of 360 RA titles (Paul Simon s/t and Rhymin' Simon come to mind immediately) on Amazon and--through tomorrow--Deezer that have not shown up in any form on Apple. @sjcorne would be able to list them.

Apple Music is using the term “Exclusively in Spatial Audio” which makes me wonder if the Atmos mix will not be available to stream from Tidal or Amazon Music.

I don’t have Tidal et al, so I can’t check but after a while I realized that if it is exclusive… it makes perfect sense since Apple owns the Charlie Brown specials now through Apple TV+

Not to say it’s great, but if it is exclusive, well… there’s the reason
