Justin's very good and discrete. Not a perfect mix, but as this album works for me as not-so-evil twin of N*E*R*D's In Search Of, it's a winner.
Too bad there's only a 360 mix on Tidal.
i played some of the J. Trousersnake Atmos tonight and my partner said he thought the album had aged surprisingly well and thought the Spatial Audio made quite good use of Surround while still feeling true to the original (and that put me in my place cos i was scoffing at what a load of old shit it was and how i couldn't believe it was 20 years since that twaddle had come out! bah Humbug!) 😂😅

Though it seems this release has those 10 but adds 20 in atmos?
This would've been a huge challenge to mix. Seems like was multiple people?
Not sure if it's the tape hiss, streaming compression, or mix compression, but it sounds pretty bright and saturated to my ears.
Good Vibrations is fantastic.

I'm gonna post this somewhere on an Atmos hardware thread, but thought I'd post here also cuz it affects listening to streaming Atmos Music on your Airpods. And this is a new discovery for stupid
ol' me, so if we've already chatted about this, my bad.

If you like an Atmos album enough that you want to download it on your phone (for later stereo listening on your Airpod Pros, etc) that''s fine. Just realize that every time you pick that album, it will play back from "local" rather than the streamed Atmos version. I did this with Europe 72 and was frustrated that it showed as stereo even when I was online. Other library albums streamed in Atmos (but they were never, of course, downloaded). Maybe there's a setting I'm missing. So I deleted the download and all is well.....except it's no longer local.

And yes, I can hear better separation when I'm airpod listening to Atmos streams rather than stereo ones. And in the media room, no comparison (of course).

There is a setting to download in Atmos.

Settings -> Music -> Download in Dolby Atmos
