Same here. Plus it pulls out some elements that were buried in that stereo mixGotta say: I was already in love with the Andre 3000 record. Getting it in Atmos is making me fall deeper.
99% of the contributions will be made by @fredblueTangentially related to the thread but still worth sharing: iOS/tvOS/iPadOS etc etc 17.3 is starting to roll out…NOW! This includes the long awaited but constantly delayed collaborative playlists on Apple Music. Might be fun to organize a site-wide “ultimate demo playlist”

And...a great interview (first of two parts) by Nate Chinen with Ethan explaining a lot about the new album:A lot of people might know Ethan from The Bad Plus if they know him at all, but he's been putting out great records under his own name going all the way back to the late 90s. Looking forward to this one. Here's a profile/interview by Phil Freeman in Stereogum:

If you are a label dealing directly with Apple, it seemshttps://9to5mac.com/2024/01/22/apple-music-spatial-audio-bonus/Interesting. Higher % for atmos.
sounds fantastic! Loving it
... or Seldom Seen KidI love Elbow. Would be nice to hear their back catalog in Atmos, like Take Off, Leaders or Build a Rocket Boys.
I’ve been listening to this. I don’t like the mix. It’s one thing to be adventurous and bring out all the little details in the music, and aggressively use the sound field, but the heft and power of the original is missing. It’s too diffuse and because of that, it sounds like a different record. I know that others will find the opposite, and that’s ok and valid. It’s just my impression. That said, this IS a good demo to show a person new to ATMOS how enveloping the music can be.
