I’ve listened to some Suss in the past and loved the idea but for some reason it never stuck with me. I’d put on an album, enjoy a few tracks and move on. Ambient Americana is a neat idea but despite the (surprisingly plentiful) supply of albums in that style only a very specific type I’ve never been able to quite nail down sticks with me.
So it is to my surprise that this new Suss album *Birds & Beasts* might just be the best ambient album I’ve heard this year and best ambient I’ve heard in a good long while.
Lap steel guitars, hazy synths, plucked acoustic guitars, harmonica and more swirl to combine to create the audio equivalent of Cowboy Heaven. A lush, hazy world of sound to get lost in.
The Atmos mix is also a star of the show here, being bright and wide, with good use of space and movement (but calling out for a lossless version! IAA please look into this one!)
oh crumbs! here's a load more tasty snacks, i mean tracks, from French DJ sensation 'Petit Biscuit'
