I saw that yesterday and meant to check it out. From the materials on his website, the project looks very cool. Quick listen indicates it's a very active Atmos mix (for a classical recording), with some big LFE.

During his years with the San Francisco Symphony, Michael Tilson Thomas was a champion of Bates's music ("classical" + electronica). There are some 5.0 releases on Sono Luminus, Pentatone, and BMOP/sound, as well as on SFS Media:

Would love to hear "Mothership" in Atmos:

I don't think he is saying the whole album is in Atmos, just F**k You (and on the clean version, Forget You).

I'm seeing those tracks in Atmos on both versions (explicit & clean) of the standard 14 track album.

(That's right. Despite how it displays, that link takes you to the track "F*** You" specifically, rather than the album.)

Happy Earth Day!
Haven’t listened to these yet, but found a treasure trove of Atmos nature sounds, occasionally with accompaniment in a Carosel in the “browse” tab

Very interesting. All the "The Listening Planet" albums and the "Mindfulness Nature" album are available on Tidal as well.

I haven't listen to them yet either, but I've added them to my library. I'm sure I won't listen to these often, but once might be alright.

Urgent news!! 🤤🤣🎸

(sorry for adding some of these one by one, some didn't come up when i searched for them earlier for some reason 👀 )

I only have the "4" album on SACD and did a comparison between Urgent from this one and Tidal. Definitely different mixes. Sad to say that the new atmos mix in every way sound worse than the old, at least in my ears. The old mix has got a much better and precise low end. I think the eq on all the instruments and lead vocal sounds better. It feels like they really did work hard to get all the details as good as possible. As for the Atmos mix it sounds more like it has been done in a hurry. Even the surround effects are more creative in the 5.1 mix. In the atmos mix' defense you could say that the snare sounds more like the original stereo mix, but I prefer it sounding a little updated. The 5.1 mix is great, the Atmos is good. The music is great anyhow so keep 'em coming. Hoping for more full best of albums like Elton's rather than just teasers like Foreigner, Billy Idol and Queen.

I felt exactly the same way about the new Atmos mix of Chicago's "Saturday In The Park".

Have to agree to disagree
My Foreigner DVD/A, in DD 5.1, blows away the Atmos recordings
The Atmos sounds ok, but no depth, or dynamic range

These Foreigner Atmos mixes have nothing in their LFE channel (effectively 5.0). Do you have full-range speakers?

I like these new Foreigner Atmos mixes. Sounds good on my 7.2.4 setup, but they have to be turned way up to sound good.

Anyone have a link to the Tidal Foreigner Atmos mixes? Thanks.
