I think it is great from first listen. I have it on a playlist with the newish X album, a Thurston Moore album, the new Rosalia, and Beck The Information. It blends in nicely while I play my daily round of disc golf.

Yeah an early contender for top 10 Atmos releases of the year for me. The lyrics are clever and funny too. I like the Life Is A Rollercoaster cover they did too. Cool mix for a 'live' recording.

I listened to almost all of it last night (it’s LONG) and was pretty knocked out by the mix as well, even in 5.1. Pretty cool record.

Pretty enjoyable in 4.1 as well (I'm not ATMOS capable, but nice through the SM at any rate). A mature album and nicely done.

I am so glad this album got the Atmos treatment.

I listened to it whilst working on my iPod pro's and thought the vocal treatment sounded great- but you don't really get much of a surround effect on headphones.

Just listened to the album in my dedicated room 7.1.4 room and I am happy to say that the sound mixer did a great job.

One of the premier vocalists of the 90's that has a voice that has the ability to stir emotion, particularly on track 'Angel'. (Nearly man wept).

Despite the simple arrangement of this song I thought it certainly shined more in surround.

Really impressed with the usage of height on track "Black & White'- so don't know how great this would sound on a 5.1 set-up.

Thought the lesser known tracks had great surround execution particularly "I love you" (track 2) and "Witness" (track 6).

Overall a really enjoyable listen.

Seems a bit congruent that this album is being released in May and not on 12th June. However I will happily accept it earlier based on the couple of mixes on offer which I would label as 'quite sophisticated surround'. Never heard of Chuck Ainley, (even though I have owned the Brothers in Arms SACD for ages). Nice to know- looks like he still has that touch.

I know the “ music” doesn’t get a lot of discussion on here ( mostly comments on how it sounds technically), but this album bored me, and I really enjoy Bonnie as an artist. It also is a very conservative ATMOS MIX.

Lyle always has great sounding records. I have a disc with Joshua Loves Ruth that is stunning, great work by George Massenberg. These new ones sound very good too, I love how dynamic it is.

Some more info here. 30 atmos tracks - basically the hits. Some also have new stereo mixes. I'll be interested to see how some of them sound - particularly the Pet Sounds and Smile tracks.

It’s interesting that the new Beach Boys expanded Sounds of Summer will utilize digital extraction technology to improve stereo mixes and perhaps also factor into the Atmos mixes.

Hopefully the digital extraction results are well received and give The Beatles some motivation to utilize it as well.

I just posted about the imminent Norah Jones 20th-Anniversary Come Away With Me SDE in the "Music Matters (Non-Surround)" thread--because the physical release will include neither the old 5.1 mix nor last year's Atmos mix. (This is part of an established trend, I know, but to paraphrase Arthur Dent: "this is obviously some strange usage of the term 'Super Deluxe' that I wasn't previously aware of.")
