i posted the excellent "Under Water / In Air" EP from STRFKR from February of this year (STRFKR are an Indie Pop outfit from Portland, Oregon, formed in 2007) here at QQ recently and now here's the complete album with all 17 tracks in Atmos ✌️💘

really nice record and suitably Surround-y mix 😻

I want to express my sincere appreciation for your work today, in which you have taken the trouble to make short comments with the name of the artist & genre, rather than merely copy/paste dozens of new releases with zero context.
Which rapidly makes my old eyes glaze over.

Please keep up the excellent contributions to a thread that has gone completely over the cliff with the glut of new content that's gone from a trickle to a firehose. 👨‍🚒🚒

+1

Comments saying something in particular is good and why is way more useful than simply a list of stuff that's available.

I can see where the thumbs up from Elton came from.

Buckets full of soul, great singing.

If you like the new Leon Bridges check this out.

My God yes!
Wading thru pages of links to new releases isn’t a great experience IMO.

Thanks for the tip, Adam. This album and mix is great fun! -And also thanks for your comments on the other ones. Highly appreciated!

I forget whether it was @fredblue or @~dave~~wave~ who posted this a week or so ago. Nice chill-out soulquarian jazz, great guestlist, better-than-average mix (which sounds more 5.1-y than Atmos-y). Cool jazz-funk cover of "Packt Like Sardines" and a really funny improvised talking blues with Esperanza Spalding.

I appreciated the tips this week, too, but with or without comments, I always look forward to the weekend scroll through @fredblue's linkdumps. They unfailingly include tons of tracks & albums that would've gotten otherwise overlooked. Even if I end up hearing and/or liking only a fraction of them, they don't take that long to get through. And there's almost always at least one treasure that I wouldn't have found on my own. It's like the old days, spending an hour or two combing through the racks at the record store, and maybe coming up with a find, or maybe not. Still time well spent!

I listened to this today as well - Glasper works so seamlessly within multiple genres - and he’s a generous collaborator. If anyone here is not familiar with his work - check him out - most of his recent releases on Apple feature Atmos mixes. Black Radio Vols 1 & 2 are a great place to start.
