a(nother) πŸ˜… eclectic mix of tracks with just the right amount of Surround activity to justify powering up your amps πŸ˜‰πŸ₯³πŸ«ΆπŸ˜

and Alt/Hip-Hop artist 070 Shake's "Petrichor" album with a superb Surround mix that will make you glad you've sacrificed a room full of furniture and people for a room full of speakers and a sweet spot just for you to let all the dramatic sounds whizz around you!! πŸ˜†πŸ₯³πŸ₯‚❀️‍πŸ”₯

Surround action! πŸ˜†πŸ˜‹πŸ€£πŸ«Ά

There is this post from last year when the albums were actually on Apple Music.

Queen I 2024 Mix not yet available in the US, at least on Apple.
It is now. Just FYI.

It's not a particularly adventurous surround mix, but what strikes me is the clarity, which has never been better for this album.

(The only thing I'm not sold on is the handling of the famous rhythm intro to Liar. Way too 'wet'! )

Wow, what a difference - my kids enjoy Marshmello so I let them have a little dance party last night in the HT room, it's a fun little song...and now we get to hear it without the atrocious mastering of the retail single!

Decent surround mix, virtually no lead vocal bleed into the rears, nice low end that breathes...wonderful dynamics.

i guess too many people were involved in the dolby atmos version of "achtung baby", in the press release they wrote about 17 months in the making in five different studios. in the end it probably sounded great only in the sphere audio system...

hope the dolby atmos version of "how to dismantle an atomic bomb" is done in one studio by one person, we'll see this friday.

Richard Whittaker, Alastair Mcmillan, and Richard Rainey are credited with the Atmos mix of Achtung Baby on Tidal. We’ll see if these chaps are involved with …Atomic Bomb.

I don’t think the Achtung Baby Atmos mix is terrible, but it’s definitely not stellar. Undoubtably a Steven Wilson or Ryan Ulyate mix would be much better.

The Fly sounded good but mostly it was a miss. Lost opportunity for greatness.

I was going to post that it was very uneven for me too. I don't know if it is the worst mix, but it sure isn't good.
The Police Atmos attempt comes to mind as being much worse with no redeeming track.

I'm absolutely loving the Jennifer Athena Galatis music I have come across on Tidal. Incredible music, incredible Atmos mixes. Think Vangelis joins Tangerine Dream. I'm not exaggerating.

The only downside is, apart from a couple of reasonable length albums -- Hubble Deep Field (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) and Discovery Earth (Original Atmos Soundtrack Experience) -- most are EPs or single tracks (each of reasonable length though). So, apart from those two albums, there are another 62 titles that are EPs and singles. Each and everyone one of them amazing in Atmos. I kid you not. Terrific artwork too.

She also has a fair bit of classical stuff (e.g. Chopin on piano), but her Atmos mixes seem to be exclusively for her electronic music. And there are even some speaker checks. She seems to be a big Atmos fan. Tidal doesn't give any info about her and I've yet to google around.

If you don't know her, check her out, like, immediately ... or maybe you all know her very well and I'm just hopelessly late to the party. :D
