Nice for her fans this is in Atmos.
Controversially, they also digitally processed her voice to make her sound as old as she'd be now?

...on a new album, Moonchild Mixes, out Friday, she no longer sounds like her early-20s self.
Instead, these remixes employ digital technology to age her voice.
Take her 1986 song "Dame tu amor," which was recorded when she was a teenager; in the remixed version, her voice has been pitched down a semitone. It's also fuller, especially at the low end.

"We worked on her vocal track to make her sound more mature," said Selena's father, Abraham Quintanilla, who, along with other members of Selena's family, collaborated with Warner Music Latina on the new release. "It'll make you think that she recorded the songs this morning."

why the fuck would you do that!? 🤯🔫

some folks whinge about Surround being a bastardisation of an album only previously released in Stereo or whatever (blah blah blah, we've heard it all before) but this feels like cultural vandalism akin to scribbling a moustache on the Mona Lisa!! or something.. right! i need a coffee! a strong one! ☕😋😂

true and while i know it sounds slightly perverse because it would mean less Atmos from Warner, tbh i'd almost rather they stop using the other people altogether (or send them back to "engineering school"! 😂 ) and just leave the Atmos to Steven Wilson and if he's not interested in a particular artist then they can just reissue the Quad or old 5.1 in Dolby Audio.

edit: i should add, i don't think SW is the only person on the planet who can mix music in Atmos, far from it, its just some of the other Atmos efforts of Warner material streaming, so far, is so far below his standard, i'd rather they hadn't bothered.
I think the Atmos mixes on Apple are a real mixed bag. Some are excellent, some sound like complete amateurs mixed them. How do I find the credits?

well you know what thought did.. he only thought he did! 😋😅

it may be tea-time but right now i'm enjoying a cold Beer to wash down some super Smokey Robinson Atmossss 🍻💘

I'll just echo what I saw in a couple of posts above, the quality of these Atmos mixes varies SO much that listening to different tracks back to back from different artists can be unpleasant. I find myself resetting volume/Atmos parameters, etc....
Time to compile a "Best Mixes - Classic Pop-Rock-Soul Singles" list?

Alanis Morissette - The Storm Before The Calm
Thanks for these. I’m not sure why the Atmos version of the Halsey album has taken exactly a year to appear. It was briefly shown in new Atmos releases the week it came out but soon disappeared.
