So Very Hard To Go - Tower Of Power

Continuing a bit of a Soulful evening. This mix is fantastic! Kinda gone for a quadraphonic style mix with horns pinned to the corners, works really well. Just goes to show mixing quad like in 2020 still works... They shouldn't have stopped!
Wow--has there been a new dump of vintage singles on Tidal recently? I gave up on Tidal a few weeks ago, but I don't remember seeing any of the three you posted about today...
I finally got all my Atmos discs out of there box sets, etc into my shoe box. I was turned on to this good list and think i own at least what I want to own for now. I am sure by end of this year I will have the Atmos rip and playback figured out but shoe box is a start.
Listening now to R.E.M in Atmos.

I'll bet it is @MrSmithers, I had done a Penteo Up-mix of this whole album last year, and really digging it, so an Atmos mix probably is ... uh uh ohhhSupernatural Thing, Pt. 1 - Ben E. King

Another nice mix - funky!
Hopefully Pups if they've located the tapes for one song then they might as well do the rest of the album?! It does sound really good!I'll bet it is @MrSmithers, I had done a Penteo Up-mix of this whole album last year, and really digging it, so an Atmos mix probably is ... uh uh ohhh
Us folks that don't yet have an Atmos setup are always curious (at least I am!) of what they're mixing into the height speakers on these. I mean heck, just because there's more speakers/channels to mix into doesn't mean it's going to be discrete right, (insert Silverline here.)Hopefully Pups if they've located the tapes for one song then they might as well do the rest of the album?! So do you @MrSmithers (or others) remember what was mixed into the heights on this one and was it discrete or just maybe some kind of blend with the lower speakers to fill the room, i.e. vocal ambience etc.?
So something like this, which uses movies as an example...I think there's some clever higher end AVRs that can actually show you the object based mapping as the content is playing? Or something going on like that...

OOOOh I want one.Very cool that Atmos Object Viewer
For music, it won't tell you if the sound coming from the speakers are discrete -- you could have 16+ continuously active speakers playing a mono source. So something like this, which uses movies as an example...
