Love me some hip hop. But, I grew up with it.
Is it a favorite genre? No. Occasional guilty pleasure? Yes. It can be a lot of fun.

But this Atmos mix is pretty dull. Almost like a photocopy of the 5.1 SACD... Not sure what the benefit is of mixing in Atmos this way... Should have gone for a more discrete mix...
Yeah Norah Jones isn’t really what I’d be looking for a surround or immersive experience. One that really doesn’t benefit from surround or Atmos.Norah Jones - Come Away With Me

Thought it’d be nice to listen to a nice chilled album for a Thursday evening (which it is...). But this Atmos mix is pretty dull. Almost like a photocopy of the 5.1 SACD... Not sure what the benefit is of mixing in Atmos this way... Should have gone for a more discrete mix...
I'm finding that not just for Norah Jones but for much--most?--of what I've heard so far. "Riders on the Storm" is really good; so is "What's Going On." A few more tracks are workmanlike but not very adventurous. And most of the rest are just...dull, as you say. Not sure who among the uninitiated will be wowed by Atmos at this rate. If they've got some real showcase material, then why are they sitting on it?
Gigaton and Automatic for the People are pretty damn good too, IMO.Yeah it might be confusing for some if this is their first experience of surround sound?! The modern tunes seem to benefit from quite good mixes. I like a lot of the soul stuff and the Coldplay album is pretty well mixed. But far too many crop up that were mixed with a lack of cojones...
Agreed but this one is too good to not listen to itNorah Jones - Come Away With Me

David Leonard for "Shallow," Rob Orton for "Just Dance." No mix credit for the other tracks. The Gaga stuff is great. Just made for surround and good mix. I can’t find how to access the credits on the Firestick version of Tidal. Anyone know who did the mix?
It is. But I'm not bothered by it for some reason. It works for me.Tell me something good - Rufus and Chaka Khan is a really unusual atmos experience with Chaka voice in the rear speakers
