Listening now to a real good version of Crosby, Stills & Nash, stereo from MOFI.
My #1381.
DR's are 11's, 12, 13's.
Dissapointment in the cover, not the true embossed orginal Atlantic paper. I am suprised as MOFI has been doing that tradition up till now quite well ie; The Band covers.
Sonically, superior to my other HiRes copys, HDTRacks and orginal CD. I can actually understand the words before the start of Marakesh Express.

I never liked this band but over the later years in my life, I started actually listening and have been appreciative of the music. Though, I still can’t stand Nash’s voice so I can’t listen for too long.

Wynton Kelly Trio/Wes Montgomery -
Smokin’ At the Half Note

Good album though on some tracks the fact it’s a live recording is obvious, not as clean as a studio recording, but that’s OK.
My opinion isn’t as enthusiastic as some of the reviews I’ve seen but nonetheless a welcome addition to my AP collection.

I always thought Marrakesh started with something around the lines of "wanna wanna gush gush". Inquiring minds want to know the words revealed with the SACD to your ears?

Well, after I posted the above I poked around and found this:
David Crosby babbles some strange-sounding words like "Whoopa, hey mesa, hooba huffa, hey meshy goosh goosh" at the beginning of the song. Graham Nash remembered: "It's some Crosby gibberish that we moved from the beginning of 'Guinnevere' to the front of 'Marrakesh Express.'"

Would you agree or suggest alternate treatment of the situation?

Wheatfield Soul & Canned Wheat -
The Guess Who

Two bonafide classics. I’ve always thought Canned Wheat was their best overall album and hearing it again now doesn’t change my mind.
The sound is decent on this SACD, better than the other GW titles DV did.

Johnny Hodges - Blues A-Plenty

Already have the Classic Gold version but couldn’t resist getting this AP SACD.
Super nice album with great sound.
His first note on the first track almost had me falling out of my chair. Roy Eldridge’s trumpet bites in a good way.

John Coltrane - Soultrane

The first Analogue Productions Mono Prestige SACD I’ve bought. It’s been awhile since I played the DCC, think the latter might be a tad warmer, but this SACD version is clear and immediate.
Amazing record.

Credit to AP for reproducing the back of the album cover on the mini LP packaging, something they don’t normally do on their Super Jewel Box stereo SACDs.

I recently bought this and the MoFi SACD. Need to compare them.
