One of these days I’ll finally get off my lazy ass and open up the vinyl version that came out the same time.

Ray Charles

His first solo album though in reality a singles and b-sides compilation. Great songs and performance. The sound considering they came from various years and sessions is excellent.
I think it sounds better than any of the three MoFi SACDs.

Count Basie LIVE at the SANDS [Before Frank] [Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab/Stereo SACD] If you really want to experience the thrill of a BIG BAND LIVE, engineer Lowell Frank's astounding 'You Are There' live Recording of Basie's BIG Band Sound is IT! Superior 3 dimensional recording and in my pre/pro's DSP SUPER mode an even BIGGER IMMERSIVE THRILL!

Live At The Sands (Before Frank), Primary, 1 of 10
Live At The Sands (Before Frank), Secondary, 4 of 10

Rickie Lee Jones PIRATES [Warner Brothers/MoFi Stereo SACD] Absolutely ASTOUNDING. With help from Steve Gadd, Donald Fagen, Michael Brecker, Tom Scott, David Sanborn et alia and orchestral arrangements by the legendary Ralph Burns. Only wish RHINO would access the master tapes and do a full ATMOS remix

Pirates, Primary, 1 of 4

Pirates, Secondary, 2 of 4
I listen to my SACD quite often. Love it!

Original Soundtrack Recording LA LA LAND [Island/Universal Hong Kong Stereo SACD] Academy Award Winner for Best Song and Musical Score. Sounds AMAZING.

La La Land - 2016 (Original Soundtrack) - Hybrid-SACD [Import]

BTW, Deep Discount is currently blowing out these three Universal Hong Kong Stereo SACD Imports for $17.83 [usually $40 each] and ALL are PRESSED in JAPAN:

Best version out there, and deliciously over packaged in a small box.

I love those Japanese White Box SHM SACD's, they all sound great. I have most of them. I think I am missing 5 or 7?
They are expensive around $80.00 each which has prevented me from getting the ones I am missing.
Not sure how accurate it is, but by going to Discogs and typing in the search box UIGY you can see a lot of them? They don't show all as I have a few they don't show. I should make a list and find out the complete list.
The last one I bought a few years ago, from Acoustic Sounds advertised as the white box The Carpenters, arrived as a SHM SACD jewel case. I called them, they said sorry they didn't have the white box.

BTW, Markie MOST of those UIGY SHM~SACDs you referred to in the clam shell box are just packaged in Mini LP Replica sleeves and not those little boxes save for a very few. Wasn't even aware the Carpenters was ever released in a clam shell box! Just Mini Replica LP sleeves!

The White Box Japanese subject got my brain going in overdrive.
UIGY SHM SACD
I own 30 of them, there are at least 8 I don't own, according to the list.
The Discogs list unfortunately is not definitive as I own a few that are not on the list like a Leon Russell that is not on the list.
To complicate matters for the White Box Collector there is a UICY PLATINUM CD WHITE BOX list. They are less expensive.
The same Leon Russell is also a white box LEON RUSSSELL PLATINUM

Type TYGP-for a few Capitol Records White Boxes.

Even more complicated is the OBI strip, light green with SHM SACD and dark blue Platinum CD seem to get mismatched. I think all the Platinum CD's are dark blue but some of the SHM SACD's are dark blue as you see in my example below.

All the White Boxes seem to have a release dates on average 2013 and 2014. They sell from about $50.00 with shipping to around $80.00.

As Ralphie told me years ago, you can't own them all, well you could. But doing this research and going down memory lane will be good enough for me as I get to say, "I do not have a complete Japanese White Box collection".

Note: my most prized is Grand Funk-We're An American Band, not necessarily for the music, but the replica mini LP in the box is like solid gold. You don't even want to breath on it let alone touch it.

Have fun collecting whatever that may be.
