I have been using my Roku for Pandora and other music through my receiver using the PLII setting, and some songs sound really good. I know this is stretching it a bit, but honestly it sounds better than some of the discs that are supposed to be surround. I have my kids hooked on it, except for the fact nothing they like is available in surround, so this is the best I get. Regardless, I have them appreciating surround in this primitive format. How can I recruit a younger generation to the wonders of superior audio quality as well as the cool factor of surround when no new artists embrace it? Damn recod companies!

I'm with you. I've pretty much stopped listening to anything in stereo anymore at home. Some tunes in PLII Music sound awesome in faux 5.1 and most sound really good IME. My experience is similar with PLII Movie for films/TV without an available surround soundtrack.

i couldn't agree more Blrac and Doc... in the 9 months i've had my system i've never listened to anything in 2 channels...even regular tv is listened to only in multi chnl mode.

in fact one that surprised me the most is the new Allman Bros Beginnings 2 chnl sacd...one of those 'extra special' discs that sounds so good in PL II i would NOT know it is only a 2 chnl recording. yes..better than some that are actually mixed in 5.1!

Peter Gabriel - Back To Front blu ray. Superb quality sound and picture. Am watching with my 4 year old son who's refusing to go to bed. He's dancing around loving it. They learn air guitar at such a young age nowadays don't they !
