How is that mix? Would like some quad frank...

For the time period and being live it's quite good..it's like a time capsule and puts you in the club with Frank and the audience...he tells jokes and has fun with the crowd...vocals are crystal clear...a tiny amount of brightness when the orchestra cranks it up(which isn't that often)...but it's not enough to really bother you...it's 1966..the prices on a used disc have fallen considerably HERE the center channel is not a factor in this one, more like a real quad recording..

Let me add this...what I love the most about this period(60's)and Sinatra was his upbeat style...this recording is more an event than a concert..I have another hi rez disc by Sinatra(Where Are You SACD)and it's pretty depressing...the cry in your beer type of music...there was a 1,000 people jammed into the Sands nightly to hear Frank from 1/26/66-2/01/66 and this disc was comprised of songs from each of those nights...

The best of The Sugarhill Gang dvd-audio....HEY...it's fun and my place needed to be dusted with a low frequency tsunami wave...

Cell One....Poet Name Life on dvd-audio.....I figured it was time to give this series of discs a proper listen through the updated system. I bought these in the early days when I was running Klipschs through an Onkyo set-up. Let's just say its a little more lively with the totems, B&Ws, Arcam and Oppo 105..

Very cool indeed Garry! (y)

I've never understood why the labels didn't do just this back in the day and release compilations for artists where they'd remixed all or virtually all of their back catalogue in Hi-Res/surround..

To be fair, Universal did the Marvin Gaye compilation (very cool.. I love it.. it could've been more comprehensive though I suspect its brevity due to combination of disc storage space with its DTS CD origins, as well as possibility of unavailable multitracks?).. and there were The Carpenters, The Police, Seal, Era, R.E.M., Lee Ann Womack, Gloria Estefan, Al Green surround compilations too of course.. and the Rory Gallagher comp, fwiw..

..just think, we could have had hits compilations of artists as diverse (and popular) as Genesis, Bjork, The Moodies, Talking Heads, The Doors, Depeche Mode..

..and if the labels had done a proper job of the surround catalogues of Dylan, Elton, Queen, Bowie, Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, The Doobies, Eagles, Chicago, Foreigner, Grateful Dead, Clapton, James Taylor, Roxy Music, Bon Jovi, Rush - can you imagine surround compilations by those guys!?

Agree totally Adam. Maybe Audio Fidelity would consider a surround compilation album from one of the artists listed!

I might do my own for Depeche Mode next. I have thought about doing one for Porcupine Tree but there's never been any official compilation released and I like their music so much I'm not sure I can whittle a track list down to a single album.

I've also been looking at the Official QQ "What's your Go-To Surround Demo Quality SACD/DVD-A" threads here thinking I'd like to make a compilation of the great demo tracks mentioned!

Bob Marley Legend BDA.

My subwoofer bit the dust last week. Purchased an SVS PB-2000 which should arrive tomorrow. Planning on using "Exodus" for my subwoofer "crawl". I'm pumped as I'm am expecting a major leap forward from the Paradigm PDR-10 that it's replacing.

I think you will be very happy with the sub upgrade and enjoy your legend and others all the more when it gets here.
